Spyderco Manix 2 XL Folding Knife - Black G-10 Handle with PlainEdge, Full-Flat Grind, CPM S30V Steel Blade and Ball Bearing

This is my second Manix 2 XL, the first has the satin finish. If you want a knife that can do everything this is the knife to purchase, bushcraft, self-defense, cut boxes, etc. If you forget your fixed blade when heading out to camp no worries (watch the Blade HQ video on YouTube).I EDC three-four knives daily, three are Spydercos, the Civilian, Shaman, and Manix 2XL. I believe in having backups and two is one, and four is two😄; and the fourth is my Bk-11 Becker Necker. If I can only have one it would be the Manix 2 XL, I grab it before the others unless I am in the office around colleagues (don’t want to freak them out), or the Gerber Dime.Spyderco knocked it out of the park with the Manix 2 XL.

My first Spyderco, and definitely not the last! I actually ordered the XL by mistake, looking to get the regular Manix 2 to replace my Cutco folder edc. This knife is large, no doubt, and it's right on the line of a practical daily edc for my use. I do a lot of "around the shop" type cutting, i.e. opening boxes, cutting string, and things like that. Nothing big. That said, it is a beautiful knife, and after contemplating returning it, I've decided to keep it. I love the bearing lock, and ease of opening/closing. The CPM-S30V steel is razor sharp, and the G-10 handle feels incredible and solid. A joy to hold. I'll keep it for the times I'm out and about, for protection or camping. I have a Paramilitary 2 incoming for my daily edc. So yeah, it's official, I'm a collector.

This is Spyderco's best model! I was torn between the Manix 2XL, Paramilitary 2, and the Military. The Manix 2XL has a thicker blade and a slightly shorter blade then the Military. The Military is just too big and the blade is thin at the tip. In addition, the Military does not come with blackout hardware. The Paramilitary 2 is overall too small for me and the blade shape is more fragile. This is a perfect EDC knife and a perfect utility knife for bushcraft or tactical operations. The scales, blade, and locking mechanism are all flawless!

I wanted to upgrade to a better knife for EDC. I wanted a knife with good size as I have large hands. I wanted knife with an ultra-sharp bade that was easy to care for and that would stay sharp longer and wouldn't rust after years of daily carry. I wanted a strong knife with a good locking blade that was easy to open and had a good shape to allow me to safely grip the knife and use it even with gloves on or with wet hands. This Spyderco Manix 2 XL fit all of these needs. I actually purchased two of them. One is the Spyderco steel colored blade and the other is the black color blade with the Diamond-Like Carbon finish. I looked at several other Spyderco knives with the black blade but ultimately I loved the Manix 2 XL so much I just purchased another one of them in black because the quality of the knife design if so good.The knife out of the box was so sharp that I could shave the hair off of my hand and arm. The ball bearing locking mechanism is rock solid. The blade when opened has no side to side movement and it is locked in place with absolutely no vertical up and down movement. The large 14 mm Spyderco hole makes opening the knife easy and the blade snaps locked and stays there. Every day I am carrying one of these Spyderco knifes. If I use it a lot during the day I spend 1 minute on a strop and bring the blade back to razor like sharpness. The quality of the steel is excellent and it is easily sharpened. I am so glad that they are both fine edged knives.The 3.88 inch long CPM S30V stainless steel blade is flat ground and is extremely sharp and beautiful. I love the curved blade design with a smooth plain blade edge and no serrations. The knife blade has the look of an ultra-high quality piece of kitchen cutlery. The internal framework of the knife is a stainless steel skeleton that provides strength and safety to the knife. A large blade needs stability if you intend to use it in tough applications. The framework is covered with G-10 scales that provide an excellent gripping surface for your hands. I really like the shape of the knife handle that is shaped like it was custom made for my hand. It provides such a good gripping area that I feel like my hand will not slip while using the knife. The knife blade has jimping on the top ramp of the knife and on the index finger choil guide that helps to provide a more secure grip on the knife and allows you to have better control of the blade for doing fine work. The knife weighs 5.11 ounces. The skeleton frame reduces the weight and allows you to easily clean the knife routinely. Keeping the knife clean is important to allow it to work properly and to avoid corrosion.The knife frame even has jimping around the handle in four strategic locations to improve your grip and help you to handle the knife. The knife handle has a large and strong clip on it that is changeable for left or right tip up carry. The handle also has a lined lanyard hole for the attachment of a lanyard. The ball bearing locking mechanism is ambidextrous and it locks securely. In fact, it takes a finger on each side of the knife to move the slide switch to unlock the blade and fold the knife.Overall I am very pleased with the quality of the knife and its functionality and appearance. This is a quality product that is made in the USA and it deserves a 5 star rating. I am pleased with the quality of the knife and I recommend this as a very good product!So good I came back and purchased one for my son as a gift.I have purchased 4 Spyderco knives and the Manix 2 XL is my favorite every day carry.

I've had hundreds of knives over the years, this one is 100% my favorite. I love this knife. This thing is solid, very well built, fits perfectly in my pocket, it's a big knife but easily an EDC razor sharp out of the box ergonomicly sound. American made and far exceeded my expectations. If I lose this knife I will be buying the exact same one again. Thanks spyderco for building this knife.

Is as described. Authentic Spyderco Manix xl. It's a razor sharp blade. Comes with all black, screws, clip, lanyard loop hole, and liners. Amazing knife! I ordered from amazon warehouse because it was a lot less than at the store. The Only thing it didn't come with was the original spyderco box. It had the papers and knife repackaged into another box.

This is the nicest knife I've ever sprung for. And I wasn't disappointed at all! Its amazing.Pros,-High quality S30V steel, big, sharp edge that holds up really well to cutting tough material.-Handle is very grippy and the extra jimping on the handle grips and the blade make it really goof proof to cut with.-Spyderco opening hole is really easy to use-Lock mechanism makes it thinner than a typical liner lock and much more secure when lockedCons-Opening is a bit "sticky" but not bad at all-The DLC coating seems to take marks from things easily but no biggy

Overall best EDC I've ever carried. Had this blade for 2 months now after carrying multiple large folders and I've finally retired the others for good. Recently carried CRKT Otanashi, Benchmade Bedlam Auto, CRKT M16s. None compare to this knife. Good balance between a self defense and utility knife. If you don't mind a little bit larger EDC, this is in my opinion the end of the line. The grip factor is off the charts. Made in 'Merica.

Top Messer! Echt super scharf geliefert. Kein klingenspiel, robust gebaut, der S30V lässt sich sehr scharf ausschleifen und das DLC coating ist wahnsinnig robust! Für meine Hände passt es wie angegossen, habe Handschuhgröße 9-10.Hab es Jeden Tag als treuen Begleiter auf der Baustelle bei mir. Manchmal wird auch mal ein Kupfer rohr damit entgratet!!Mein nächstes spyderco wird dann ein "kleines manix" mit Micro MELT MAXAMET Klinge 🙄😊Zum versandt! Alles ohne Probleme, würde zügig vom Händler losgeschickt! Nur immer diese Probleme mit Hermes.......Ansonsten alles zu meiner vollsten Zufriedenheit!War nicht mein erst und auch nicht letzter Lauf von Neun-24 über Amazon

Eines der besten Messer was Qualität (Fertigung und die verwendeten Materialien) anbelangt. Groß und wirklich gut gemacht. Das ist die Serie von Spyderco die noch in USA hergestellt wird. Top Stahl, G10, sehr gute Fertigungstolleranzen. Nachhaltig sehr scharf. Bin sehr zufrieden. Bei mir (Handschuhe Gr. 11,5-12) passt die Griffkonstruktion ausgezeichnet. Solide und gut. Als EDC womöglich ein wenig zu groß, aber das ist Geschmacksache. Von mir 5 volle Sterne.

Buen tamaño, marca excepcional, con un g10 al tacto muy bueno, agarra perfectamente. Hoja muy afilada, te afeita... Y mecanismos de alta calidad. La única pega, y es a titulo personal, es el poco peso y finura de la navaja.
