Great ergonomic chair for hybrid work
After a year of suffering in a cheap uncomfortable chair while working from home, I finally took the plunge and got a Steelcase leap. I’m not sure why I waited this long! I experienced an immediate improvement in my posture and lower back pain. I also just feel so much more comfortable working in this chair. It comes fully assembled, so all you need to do is unpack the box and start working. I love the fully adjustable arm rests, which allow me to get closer to the desk when I am on video calls. I’ve seen some people questioning the price and I have to say it is totally worth it for your back health and overall comfort while working from home. I purchased the gray Leap with platinum base. The color goes well with my gray desk and the platinum base lends a softer tone than the black base. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your home office, this chair is worth the investment.

All the right Comfort adjustments
All the previous reviews were so right about the comfort and easy assembly.I've never had a chair with so many different adjustments available. I've tried a variety of adjustments to find the right ones for me. No more backache after a couple of hours of intense data entry. The adjustable armrests have made for a better rest and use point to prevent the shoulder muscle pulls I previously had.I no longer question my crazy decision to spend this much money. There is no doubt about the value of this purchase.

High Quality Chair Good for Back Issues
I took away one star for price. But maybe that's not fair. I searched high and low for quality office chairs at an affordable price. It seemed like they were either around $100 and low quality or around $1,000 and I was worried to spend so much. However, I am thrilled with my chair. I do wish there were a middle ground price point but it is what it is. Plus, I imagine the cost is including shipping the chair FULLY ASSEMBLED. That is very convenient. I have low back problems and this is supportive. My complaints about previous chairs were the seat was not comfortable and not deep enough. This seat you can adjust the depth, the arms, the lumbar, height, everything! I highly recommend watching the video to see the adjustment process. I think this will work best if you take the time to adjust properly. The lumbar adjustment is great! Also, I like the adjustment for how much you have to push to lean back. It was a high price but then again I'm sitting in this everyday for almost 8 hours...

Excellent Desk Chair
This chair is well made, very comfortable and easy to adjust for your best support position. I have used it daily since I received it and expect to have it for a long time. Great purchase - expensive but an excellent value given how much time I spend sitting in it.

Backrest padding is non-existent
The backrest always feels like sitting against hard plastic, and I'm 5'11, 155 LB's.chair is mostly plasticarmrests are not very comfythe seat is a rounded arch, and no it's not comfy either, its hard.Backrest adjustments make minimal changesSoftest lumbar setting still pushes into lower backlumbar support has this physical plastic bar you move in the backrest on both sides, which means it could get stuck at an angle, it would be better without it.Chair moved upper back pain to lower back, due to sitting against hard plastic, after a few hours my lower back tightens up and then I have to lay on the floorno support for upper backThe only likeable aspect to this chair is that the seat moves forward when you lean back.... but for $1000+, I should love this chair, not hate it.

Comfortable chair, but it smells!
Overall, the chair is very comfortable. This chair is replacing a Herman Miller Aeron classic chair and the Leap V2 is almost as comfortable as the Aeron. I also tried the Gesture chair but I felt like that chair was forcing me to readjust my posture while sitting. The recline option is great; the back reclines without the seat moving. The limited arm pad adjustment (compared to Gesture) was not an issue for me. The seat wobbles but that is expected (as explained by BTOD.com).The reason why this doesn't get a higher rating is because the chair smells on and after delivery. I bought this chair "Used - Like New" ship and sold from Amazon. The chair arrived in great condition (as advertised) but it had a strong chemical smell like some reviewers mentioned. The smell is similar to a hairspray product. It's a pretty strong smell and was still present even after letting the chair sit in the garage for 7 days. I tried a few different methods (as mentioned on Steelcase's website) to clean the chair and hopefully remove the smell but to no avail. I eventually gave up and started to just use the chair and hope that the smell would go away. 22 days after it was delivered, the smell is still there but not as strong as before.

Excellent chair!
I've been using this exact model chair since 2012 at my work office. I've always wanted one for my home office, well I finally got one. This chair at home blows my mind replacing the one I had before. My back felt the difference immediately. I have used a cheap ~$250 office depot chair since Covid-19 hit, March of 2020. The Steelcase chair has not needed any maintenance or anything at all since 2012, however, I will add, after about 10 years the chair slowly drops and needs re-adjusting in height - I would say it needs adjusting after about 2 hours of sitting, I sit on a lot of conference calls at work throughout the week. Overall this chair will give you at least 10 years of out-of-the-box performance without a doubt, well worth the money.
