Does the handle have shock protection? Like will my hand hurt from vibration caused by striking metal?

The head is attached to the handle very tightly, there is 0 play there. The handle is made of a dense plastic (yellow) with a grip portion covered with a softer rubber-like plastic (black) which is tightly bonded to the handle. All together, these measures definitely help absorb impacts very well. To a degree, this a personal thing, but for me, I didn't have any issues using it on an anvil shaping hot metal. Regardless of what you do though, I would highly recommend wearing work gloves as well. This helps even more.

Will this work to demo cast iron or steel bath tub?

It will destroy anything short of depleted uranium armor.

What is the hardness of this hammer? I am not trying to dent ny anvil.

You might need to contact Eastwing for specifics on the hardness of this hammer. I have a 50 pound anvil and haven’t put a dent in it with this hammer.
