If this can detect background radiation, why does a customer say it can't detect radon radiation? Beta is beta. Anyone?

Radon gas mainly emits Alpha radiation. This one detects Beta, Gamma and X-Ray, not the Alpha. Only GMC-600+ detects Alpha radiation.

Is this device emp shielded? eg, can it still be used post a nuclear blast?

I don't know. I use it to measure radiation from rocks and orange fiesta wear dishes. If there is a nuclear blast your geiger counter will probably be melted and you will be vaporized.

Does this unit audibly click? I want a GC for field testing minerals so the tube must be near the side and otherwise suitable for prospecting.

Yes. The click sound is same as traditional Geiger Counter sound in movies.

Not on the 320E, If you menu dive on the GQ-GMC-500+, There is a setting that says it’s for food testing. Personally, I’ve not tested food with my 500+, though.

Über die Technik und Handhabung dieses Gerätes wurde hier schon viel geschrieben, daher brauche ich diesbezüglich keine Rezension. Ich habe dieses Gerät gekauft, weil in diesem Jahr eine hervorragende Pilzsaison war und andererseits viele offizielle Stellen von der Strahlenbelastung von Pilzen redeten. Mein Ergebnis aus Nordbayern: Geringes Problem: gemessene Strahlendosisleistung µSv/h 0,120 amtliche Strahlendosisleistung µSv/h 0,110 berechnete gemessene Strahlendosisleistung mSc/a 1,051 berechnete amtliche Strahlendosisleistung mSc/a 0,964 Grenz-Strahlendosisleistung mSc/a 1,000 Delta amtlich-gemessen % 9% Delta grenz-gemessen % 5% Problem: ich kriege das System nicht auf dem PC (W10-64) installiert, der Treiber wird schon gar nicht installiert. Support angeschrieben - schnelle Antwort: W10 braucht den USB- Treiber nicht. Das Ding läuft perfekt. Download ist langsam. Ich sehe die downgeloadete Daten *.bin nicht!

Fantastic little unit better to have something than have nothing when it hits the fan..... I will be swopping out the tube for a better one but saying that its not needed but i am a has to be perfect nut.....

The GQ GMC-320 Plus is an excellent tool for checking radiation levels. It’s easy to use, accurate, and lightweight. The real-time monitoring is very handy, and I love that it makes a clicking sound for radiation detection. The rechargeable battery lasts a long time, and the data logging feature lets me track and analyze readings on my computer. The only minor issue is that the screen can be hard to read in bright sunlight. Overall, it’s a great value and perfect for anyone wanting to monitor radiation. Highly recommended!
