Shear magnificence! Best ever nail clippers!
I’ve used a lot of nail trimming hardware, but these are different. The cut sharpness is the key point that makes them different. They cut right through nails, and even through thicker nails. They are expensive, but all great things have a cost. I highly recommend them. I keep them in my pocket. They are not like any other nail clipper on the planet! Try them, you’ll like them.

Quality and functionality of product.
Not cheaply made the size seems alright very sharp blades and has a big enough opening for standard nail thickness also a very nice leather pouch for storing in.

Super bad quality control
Keeping in mind that this little clipper costs over $42, it is quite simply a rip-off. One side if the jaws does not close completely, so that side does not give a crisp clip but an annoying squish. (See image where light is visible on one side while the other side is fully closed.) Solingen quality? Not at all. The leather case is so tight it pulls, and the tab sticks out making it look like junk. (See image where the snap ball does not line up with the detent.) The narrowest part of the case passes over the widest part of the clipper jaws, so that the corners of the clipper jaws stick out. I am quite shocked that the Solingen name has come to this. I never thought I would say you are better off with any cheapo brands rather than this Solingen.

they are very nice, a high quality product
As far as the clippers, they are very nice, a high quality product. Agree with a few others however, the opening between the blades is too small. I like to use clippers on my cuticles and some skin around the finger tips but the opening is too tight for using a slightly angled technique (using the ends of the cutting area). I have another pair of german made clippers ($50) with a wider gap and they are excellent at the ends of the blades. At about a 45° angle, you can use them like scissors and cut through any task. If you have a thicker piece of hanging skin, it will not fit into the gap, making it impossible to cut it with these. The quality of the product feels like a 10. Solid, cleaver/durable spring system, precise edges and smooth cutting....as advertised. I just wish they had a wider opening and perhaps reduce the arc so you could use the blade ends a skin cutting tool. As it stands, it's not good for much beyond nails. However, it does an awesome job that....just nails.

Great Nail Clipper
I needed to replace my Wustoff nail clipper purchased 8 years ago. The edge was getting dull, making the clipper difficult to trim nails. The Solingen clipper looks exactly like the Wustoff clipper (no longer made), so I purchased it, and glad I did. The stainless steel edge is sharp, the clipper is comfortable to use to trim my nails on my hand and nails on my toes, even with my arthritic hands. The Solingen clipper is pricey, but worth it for a quality, well-made nail clipper. The clipper fits in the leather holder with the cutting edge up, so you need to be very careful when removing it from the holder.

Doesn’t cut
I bought these clippers because I am tired of flimsy, cheap clippers. These do have comfortable contour and seem very sturdy. Unfortunately, the one thing fingernail clippers need to do is clip fingernails. I don’t know if I just received a bad pair but the cutting edge meets on one side before the other and they don’t cut worth squat. I have clippers that cost 1/10th what these did and cut much better. I own tweezers from this company and I am very pleased with those. The fingernail clippers are very disappointing.
