Avoid transmitter/receiver antennas touching metal; stay within range of transmission
Finally got around to installing this receiver/transmitter kit. I had a repair done to the car and the backup camera wasn't working after I got it back. The problem was either a broken video cable or a faulty camera. I saw this kit on Amazon and decided to try it because I was not in the mood to run another video cable to test. The installation was easy. The transmitter connects to the backup camera. The receiver connects to the head unit. Read also the head unit manual to see how to connect the wire for the trigger for automatic switching to the backup camera when the vehicle is put in reverse. The challenge was in testing the kit. I have a hatchback. I placed the transmitter on the inside of the trunk door, just below the bottom middle of the back windscreen, in a cavity and not letting the antenna touch any metal behind the cover hiding the electronics.Placing the receiver behind the head unit results in the receiver getting no signal from the transmitter. I placed the receiver to the right of the head unit (due to space constraints and fortunately mainly plastic in that area) and got a stable, sharp and clean picture from the camera. The signal is wireless so you might get interference at some point from an external source in close proximity to the transmitter/receiver kit. But for the most part you should get a distortion free picture from the transmitter to the receiver. The key points to remember are:1) do not let the antennas of both the transmitter and receiver touch any metal parts as this will affect the signal transmission2) do not place the receiver behind the head unit because the head unit, being metal, will block the signal from reaching the receiver and you won't get any picture from the backup camera3) the receiver does not have to be in direct line of sight of the transmitter but within the operating parameters of the kitI am very pleased with this kit and would recommend it

Works perfect on large SUV
Put this in a 2003 Lincoln Navigator which is a very large suv. Some reviews said that a small car is all this was good for but they are wrong. I installed the receiver behind my radio and the transmitter inside the rear lift gate (behind the metal wall) and I have zero reception issues. Fantastic deal for the price - you cant go wrong! I wired the transmitter straight to my reverse lights power and ground wire and the receiver to my reverse wire with the camera turn on wire to the radio. There is NO delay in turn on it is instant.

Extreme disappointment
Total garbage. Signal is super weak, static-y, cuts out every other second, and it takes forever to even kick on after placing the car in reverse. It's a Dodge Journey, it's not a long way to connect.

Ok So Far, Easy to install
So far so good. 3 stars because it's only been installed for a say and I have a fuzzy picture at times. It's easy to install and I am using it on a Ford E150 Conversion Van, its mounted in rear door behind the panel by the license plate bracket. and the receiver is mounted under the dash by the steering column. I think i am picking up interference and will mess with it to see what I can do. If I can get it going better I will up date my review.Update 11/27/2017Update from 3 stars to 5.Great customer service. After my initial review the manufacturer contacted me suggesting it may be the transmitter as it was inside my rear door.I had enough slack in the line so I re routed the transmitter so it was right next to my door handle on the rear door. So the transmitter is now inside the van and it gets a great signal now with no interference so far. Time will tell but it gets a great picture right now with the engine running.

Not pleased at all (updated review)
If you are using this for a head unit and wish to have it trigger when you reverse you will need to run a wire either from the front junction connection if you can find it or from the reverse light in the back.My connection is not that great the quality sucks. Image is distorted (static) and lagging. Wish there was a way to change frequencysWanted this so I could save time and not run a video cable through the vehicle. But looks like I will be trashing this and running one anyways.Update: The seller reached out to me for my review and offered to replace the transmitters. Will update when I recive on how it works.Up from one star to four for good customer service hope the new one will work well.Update 2: New product is actually a little better. There is no more lag. Static has went down but the quality just lacks depth. Wired a video cable by passing the wireless to be certain it was the transmitters not the camera and the image was crystal clear. These will be fine if you have no choice to go wireless, they will get the job done but im still not pleased with them.Over all giving 3 stars thats the product and the seller with their great customer service.

Everything works as it should
Everything was easy to install and use. Solid image for the most part. I do get issues when the RCA cable moves around but that can be remedied easily and isn't the fault of the transmitter/receivers. From my testing, these units, while hot don't approach burning hot when left "always on" but I'll see how that goes.I used my set for a wireless rear view backup camera. The receiver is "always on" tapping in when the key is inserted. The rear is tapped into the reverse light.

Did not work for me
I found these to be VERY susceptible to interference - rendering them unusable. This surprised me as I have a 10 year old Mini Cooper and does not much tech
