do you neccisarily need this in order for the lace front wig to stay on?

Not necessarily a lace front it's definitely needed for a full wigs securing . However lace fronts do require the proper glue

I blow dry my hair (very close to being dry) and then use gel

Does this hold down the wig down, because i used got 2 be glue and its not holing my lace front down

This is not an adhesive. I use it to give hold to my hair style and not on a lace front wig. I do not believe this would hold down a lace front wig.

Does this flake or leave a white residue? I want to see if it works for my mixed girls edges.

It doesn’t flake or turn white. If you glob it on it will clump. If you rub it on your hands and then rub into your hair it it blends well. It’s powerful so use sparingly until you figure how much is needed

Keeps hair secure

I used this product back in the States. For context, I have thick hair that shrinks when wet, especially in the heat of Japan. This product is great as it locks in the style and length and doesn't melt when it comes into contact with the heat of Japan. I use it for my edges and to tie my hair back. It lasts for a few days at a time as well. I recommend this product for people doing excersize or people who are outside in hot temperatures.
