A sharp knife is your best tool
I bought my Spyderco Triangle V sharpmaker over 25 years ago. It is nice to see that if I break one of the ceramic stones that this devise uses, I ma NOT out of luck. This system is easy to use and creates the perfect edge to maintain a SHARP blade for whatever your blades intended use. My wife loves the edge I leave on her kitchen knives as well as scissors and other cutting devices. It is relatively quick and easy to use and saves lots of money over sharpening services, and delivers the same professional finish.

Excellent Material
I got tired of borrowing my son's Spyderco sharpeners. Theya re excellent. I even use them now to sharpen X-acto blades and the blades from utility knives.

Is what it is, A GREAT PRODUCT
Me being not so smart, smashed my original stone on the floor of my garage. This is exactly the same and just as great. I have written a review on the Ultra fine stone, this is a wonderful product. Capable of sharping any steel I have seen(I have 50+ pocket knives) . Zdp-189 no prob, s30v, even s110v easy. This is all to a point of course and assuming that you can maintain an even FINAL bevel,(the cutting edge). Not great for taking off a lot of steel on the harder steels. I found it difficult to reset the secondary bevel on a CPM-M4 Benchmade, but this is tough stuff. For the final bevel on that same knife though this will put a nasty sharp edge on the finished edge. Of course this not the final step with this system, and will not get the ultimate result, but as with everything that Syderco makes, it is a wonderful product.

Exact match replacement
Since I had my Spyderco sharpener since mid 1980s I was concerned that the replacement rods would be different. These were an exact match to my originals

Good replacement just one issue
for some reason the replacement is more.. sharp/pointed?makes it hard to fit into the original sharpening system , sometimes youve really gotta get it in there, however when its in it doesnt move a mm

Good stone to have
Either in the kit or all by itself, this is a great stone to have. Just don't drop it, they break easy. Sharpens hard tool steels fine and easy to clean. The fine stones are good match with this. I had one last me 16 years with no issues, before it was stolen.
