Here is my transcript from the video! This is my review for the Joil-can tripod. Here's the tripod. I'm holding it because I usually use it to do my reviews on. It's really good, it's really good, it's really good. And it's well, well, well worth the price because here's why. It's lightweight, but not too light because you want something sturdy that's gonna have some basis for the camera. It's got a bunch of different controls on it. Oh, it's even got a spirit level. I didn't even realize that till I just started doing the video and saw it in reverse. Okay, it basically, it does a tilt, it does a pan, it does up, down. It can go, so you're up, it can take you down. It's a good one. I've used lots before. And what I like about this is, sure there's plastic rings to it, but it's basically aluminum, aluminum, they say here in America. And it makes it stronger and it's firm. And that's important because if, you know, someone accidentally knocks it, it's gonna be nice and sturdy. I took it to Hollywood. We were going to a museum there and wanted to do some selfie stuff, ton of fun. It's called Museum of Illusions, by the way, a lot of fun, or House of Illusions. So I'm very, very happy to give this a five stars out of five stars. And I like this. It's the color, sort of like a burnt umber, orange hue, sunset over Malibu. All right, there you go. That's the review. Hope it helps.

This tripod has proven to be very sturdy. I purchased it specifically to use with my new spotting scope. It has very little if any vibration when pointing, adjusting and focusing the scope-the site picture through the scope remains very stable and moves smoothly. My scope has a built in ARCA-Swiss mount which fits this scope perfectly with no adapter needed. The ball assembly is very smooth with a very good friction adjustment knob. This tripod has many features I will likely never use but nice to know they are there if needed. All in all I'm very pleased with this tripod.

I have some 25 x 100 binoculars that weigh 10 lbs. It's hard to find an affordable tripod that's tall enough and sturdy enough to support my binoculars while I'm standing. I tried a cheaper tripod, but it was shaky and lightweight. The ball head and panning are smooth and allow you to look around with the binoculars while giving good support and they lock solid when you want them to stay put. This tripod is sturdy and is definitely worth the money. You can unscrew one of the legs and use it a a monopod also.

This is a review of the tripod with the ball head mount. First, rest assured that this is a very good quality tripod, and it is very tall, although not 80". If you just need to know it's not a piece of junk, I can tell you that it's not. Please realize it can't compete with an 8-pound, 1.5" steel tube Bogen -- that's a different class of tripod. This is a (relatively) lightweight aluminum tripod with thin, multi-segment legs. In that class, it's very sturdy and very stable. I am very pleased with its quality and stability. Also, the ball head is very good. The friction tensioners are very sensitive, and you can set the friction so you can make small adjustments the angle of your device without noticeable slop or bounceback or whatever. I haven't put this into live use yet (too many cloudy nights this week, dang it!) but testing it in the house has given me a very good feeling about it. It's very promising. HOWEVER!!!! This tripod is NOT 80", 81", or 83" tall -- and it's not even close. With the legs locked in the narrowest position (which would make the tripod as tall as it can be), the top surface of the mounting plate is 73" high. I have no idea where they get the claims of 80" or more... that's quite a substantial difference. I mean, ludicrous. Am I missing some kind of adjustment? So: if a good quality, stable, 73" tall, aluminum tripod suits your needs, this is a good one. Buy it with confidence. However, if it's important that it's taller, read on to find out why I was wrong about needing an 80" tripod for my own needs. Had I known that the tripod was 73" tall, I likely wouldn't have purchased it, but I'm very happy I did! As it turns out, I didn't actually need an 80" tall tripod. I'm 6'2". (In bare feet -- taller in shoes!) That's 74" tall. My eyes are at 72". My use case is to mount binoculars on the tripod to look at the sky while standing, and when the binoculars are rotated to point up, the eyepieces rotate down, becoming lower than the mounting plane. So, I was looking for a tripod which was maybe 75" or better. However, what I'd forgotten to take into account is the height of the binocular mount, which is about 4" above the plane of the mounting plate! The binocular mount effectively created a 77" mount height, which turns out to be just about perfect for my needs: I can stand normally and look comfortably up into my binoculars. Note that even with the 4" binocular mount, this still comes nowhere close to 80" in height. I still don't know how they're justifying that claim. I also don't know who would need a tripod that tall!!! Anyhoo, that's my tale. Hope it's helpful to those trying to find a decent tripod. I really like this one!

On first impression, the Joilcan H80 is chalk full of features and is (for the most part) solidly built. Out of the box, it contains a carrying case, 3 allen wrenches (one not pictured), two quick release standard plates, an extension tube, a small felt pouch, a ballhead mount, and of course the tripod. The ballhead is hefty and solid. All the knobs are well dampened and feel secure- no jangly bits. The leveling bubbles are a nice touch. This ballhead controls nicely, however when mounted on the tripod fully extended you might find that it's a bit out of reach. On that note, 86" is nothing to scoff at, and with the extension tube attached this tripod can reach hilarious heights. That said, you probably wouldn't want to max out the height unless on solid ground and weighed down (there is a spring loaded hook on the bottom that stows and offers a hook for bags/weight). As a drawback to the height, at full extension, the legs get quite small and fiddly. There's a lot of give in the joints that may be insecure in precarious circumstances. In regards to traveling the tripod is certainly compact, but with the weight and height of it, it may still be too bulky for prolonged adventuring. As described, one of the legs detaches to form a monopod. The ballhead can stay mounted, or the screw on the top of the tripod can be flipped to accommodate other attachments. The monopod can extend to the same impressive height, but because of the loose nature of extending the leg fully, I would not put much weight on it. Definitely not a hiking stick. All in all, for the price this is a fantastic tripod. Well built, and sturdy for casual use. I would use this on some of my professional and casual shoots; but for hiking, a more compact tripod would be in order I think. Regardless, for the price and features, this tripod is a 5 out of 5 purchase. May update after prolonged use.

In short I am happy with and recommend this tripod. Now a little more detail. I am an amateur or enthusiast/hobbiest that just wanted a decent tripod to hold a light camera. I’m not a professional and this was the most expensive tripod I have bought. That being said for my use case I am more than satisfied with what I got for my money. Pro’s: It’s a versatile sturdy tripod that can go very tall, I’m 6 feet tall and it can go above my head so more height than I will probably ever use. It can convert into a monopod easily, need to unscrew a leg and reattach it to the ball head so I don’t think I would do it much on the fly but if I want to be more mobile/compact and take some photos at a school event I think it would be perfect to convert before I go. Ball head seems to be very well made and works great for what I want to use it for. The quick detach plate is easy to use and it’s really nice that they include 2 with the tripod I was very surprised at how nice the carry bag was, felt durable and had a little padding in it. Also, surprisingly compact for its max height. Con’s: The weight hook seems a little flimsy to me, plastic screw in piece with a metal hook. Has a light spring on it. Seems like it would be fine for a small camera bag 8lbs or less. But not ideal for a heavy backpack. That being said, I don’t plan on using the hook much as it’s sturdy without a counterweight The leg lock tabs seem loose when I use them to adjust the legs, they slop around quite a bit as I move between the different lock points. Once they are engaged its sturdy so I’m fine with it considering the price of the whole thing.

I shopped quite some time before deciding on this tripod. It is probably the nicest, heavy duty tripod I've ever owned complete with an adjustable ball and socket head as well as quick release adapters for your cameras, cell phone adapter bracket or even telescopes. It is definitely a solid, well-built and sturdy tripod as I tested it in some pretty strong winds (40+ mph) in Utah and New Mexico. The price was very good too for a tripod of this caliber. The connections were solid and the quick adjust lock levers for the legs made setup very quick and easy. It even came with additional quick mount plates, extension tube and removable rubber feet. Removing the rubber feet exposes stainless steel spiked feet which are great to plant the tripod legs firmly into the ground. I also really like the flexibility of being able to reverse the center tube and head to allow macro photography of objects close to the ground without having to lay on the ground for great close-up shots. Solid footing/mounting makes lengthy, timed exposures and hyperlapse mode possible for incredible night photography (as shown from our recent trip to Utah). I highly recommend this tripod to anyone for photography with cameras, cellphones or even telescopes!

This is a well made tripod, no doubt about it. There is one major flaw I didnt realize until I used it. If you want to do a horizontal sweep while filming, lets say of scenery or sports, you cant do it and stay on the same level. This is a ball design, so both the Horizontal and Vertical movement is all at once from the one ball in the socket, unlike a traditional tripod I was more use to using all my life, where you have a separate horizontal and vertical axis to turn the camera on. If you try to sweep horizontally you will go up and down as well, no way pure horizontal is happening during filming and sweeping. If you want to film and have instantaneous ability to immediately turn in any direction, if you are taking picture stills and following a bird or a plane or superman, then this is your tripod. I'm not saying its a bad tripod, it just cant do what I need it to do. The lack of an extended handle to turn the ball makes this nearly impossible to move in any direction without going way over in a direction you did not intend. You have to grab the camera and by grabbing the camera to move it you involve shakes in the camera, grabing the camera is the biggest no-no and is why you have a tripod in the first place. IT should of at least had a handle/rod/boom to move the camera. The top that you set your camera on has 2 levels one on each side of the corner. Good luck trying to get those 2 into the center, it reminds me of the little plastic toys we had were you tried to get a marble into the center by tilting on the horizontal and vertical axis at the same time, its nearly impossible on this small of a ball. Vertical Sweeps. Due to the "Slot" in the piece that holds the ball, you can lower the extension part of the ball assembly into that slot and you can do a vertical sweep in a perfect up down line, you could even then do a left to right horizontal sweep. I know I said you can't do that, the difference here being is that your cameras view is in the vertical position, its like turning your widescreen TV or monitor 90 degrees and now you have a long up and down but narrow wide. So if you want all your movies with you expensive S camera to look like they are taken on a cell phone, then this mode works for you. But I do alot of "widescreen" panoramic type shooting and I need to sweep horizontally and no way thats happening. Possibly I can build something that I can attach to it that will let me do that. Its nice, its well made, its not heavy but its not something you want to bring on a long hike, just maybe the mono-pole part of it. Okay for stills, no good for filming, unless your are not going to move your camera. I'll probably give it away and get a traditional one.Think about it before you buy.
