I expect it to cast farther than other reels.
Hard to wright a review at this time. It is winter here now. This reel is not made for ice fishing.

Penn # 1 Reel
Penn reels are very good quality reels. I own 5 reels including this one. I never had issues with any of them. Construction of Penn reels is simple compare with Shimano but functionality is much ahead of Shimano.(I have Shimano Stradic 5500 that I had to send for repair). I love Penn reels, made in China, Yes but there is QC that Penn provides - I am writing this because read one review that was focused on China's heat not on Penn product. I, also do not agree with manufacturing everything in China but governments must do their job not us.

SUPER VALUE FOR MONEY
I've had a lot of reels over the years, but this beats them all for build quality and super value for the price bracket, first time owning a Penn reel (battle 111 3ooo). Any more reels I buy, it will be a Penn.EXCELLENT.
