Muck Block
Cost is crazy and upsetting..... But I bought 3 muck blocks earlier this year and a large fountain for a 1 acre pond. I dropped the MB's in the last 4 months just below the fountain. Because I cannot see the bottom I must gauge by smell. The smell is profoundly better. The water, due to the fountain and muck block combo, is not stagnat and nothing grew on top of the water besides normal bank weeds. I am so thankful. This is a headache/heartache every single year. My worry diminished. Note: we have had above normal rainfall in CS TX this year and cooler temps but just the look makes me so happy. Thank you.

Easy to use!
I can't see that it has done anything for the pond yet!

Works if you do your pre work.
We have a 100 foot x 200 foot pond that receives our flood irrigation water. It has bass and other fish in it. I have fought the algae and weeds for years. This works IF you treat for all the other growth first. Then put the block in and your work is cut down to almost nothing. I use way less Cutrine plus and Weedtrine than before.

Best with Additional Bacteria Treatments, Not as a Standalone Product
This block is supposed to be for much larger ponds than my 5800 gal. one, but I was having such a problem establishing a balanced ecosystem with crazy long string algae taking over, I bought it. That was about 3 weeks ago and I'm not sure it's made a difference. Currently, the algae has not increased, so maybe that's due to this marine bacteria block and the liquid bacteria I've added. As a standalone treatment, I don't think it would have much effect on the filamentous or planktonic (green water) algae. You need to combine forces with liquid bacteria. A few side notes: the bright, turquoise color of this block surprised me; it's not gray, like in the image. It was very visible on the bottom of my 4 ft-deep pond until it finally dissolved after about a week. Also, once I got it wet, it crumbled easily, so relocating/moving it is not a good idea.

Muck Block not Helpful so Far.
I placed the Muck Block at the end of our dock. This took place on June 8, 2021. It is now June 18th, 10 days later. Does not seem to be having much effect. I understand it is time time release but I would have thought I would see some activity after 10 days but nothing yet. Still lots of muck around the block and the water is about the same clarity. Disappointed so far but I will check again after 30 days since it is supposed to last 2 months.

A must have for ponds.
I have seen great improvement in our pond with this bacteria block placed near the fountain. It’s a bit pricey but I think worth it.

I Am A Believer
Synopsis "It restored my septic drain field" Since it is a facultative bacteria colony forming product, and since I use a large aerator in my septic system to support aerobic bacteria digestion of waste, I gave it a try. Yes it says it treats two acre feet of water, and yes that is the standard equivalent of two years water consumption of a typical household. But hey septic systems are not equivalent to a typical pond. I dropped the six pounder next to the aerator in the sewage pump tank, the bacteria consumed the biomass buildup and within 6 weeks the water standing over my septic drain field was gone. That was equivalent to letting the system "rest" unused for 12 months. Minus 1 star for price 😁

Really works !!
I have tried many muck busters over the years with various success and failures. This product started to show results in 2 days and the best part about it that you drop it in and forget it. No dosing , no timing , no mess (liquids).

I would like to believe that it did work as promised but it did eliminate the odour. As far as the silt goes I think I was short on my calculations. By that I believe that I should have used 2 of them.

Wish I could rate a zero. This does absolutely NOTHING. This is the biggest waste of $175 plus.

Only one block used in an area which has lots of muck. Too soon to tell
