BEFORE you assemble. be very sure there are no broken parts. Once assembled you are stuck. The trigger was broken. In fact, part of the green handle was missing.....meaning someone tried it...or during testing it was broken. I will try to return...I will NOT order this again 7-8-2013 update - I had to contact the manufacturer. They were very nice, and said they would ship me a replacement. (fingers crossed) (Amazon said that I needed to contact the manufacturer.) 7-12-2013 update - A replacement was received. Yes, exactly like the other one, except this one was a recently manufactured one (July)... the initial one was made in January. So, this was my second assembly, so, not an issue at all. I will say that you need to be sure to NOT pull the green slider down at the base of the mop. I did that on my first one, and it was tough to raise it back up into position. Well, since I remembered that, on my second assembly, I simply made sure it was loose before assembly. I can see that the trigger pivot is strong.....even though it is plastic, and should not break. This is where my first mop was broken. To use the mop, the trigger is pulled ever so slightly..... not much force at all.... So, as I think back to the first one, no doubt it just happened to slip through QC. I wasn't particularly happy that I needed to deal with the manufacturer, and not with Amazon. However, it worked out fine, and I am totally happy. Excellent customer service. The mop works nicely. As I said earlier, the pressure on the trigger is ever so slight, so I do not anticipate future issues. The reusable pad is great - velcro attaches it to the mop... and you can just toss it in the washer to clean. And, the cleaner cartridge is reusable, so just turn it upside down, unscrew the cap and refill. Funny, I swear I saw a review from someone that mentioned that they put a hole in the top to refill and used a cork!!! Now it gets 5 stars! Update 5-11-2014: It is still working great. Some info on use.... as you pull the trigger, and the solution is dispensed, it is creating a vacuum within the bottle. So, as you use it more and more, the vacuum gets stronger, and it will not spray as good as it did at the beginning of your cleaning session. The fix is to just break the vacuum..... pop the dispenser out - turn it upside down and put it back in - snap it back in.. and you are golden. I think what could happen to some is that the spray will stop coming out, and then the user pulls harder and harder on the trigger to release the solution.... no do not do that, just reset the bottle as explained above. This is a first-rate product. I am *very* glad that I did research before buying and settled on this one for cleaning about 1000 sf of hardwood floors in our house. he number of (well known) wood floor products that have problematic ingredients in them is amazing / appalling. Our cleaning people love it too, and they are the real experts. PROS: - The vast majority of floor products range from bad to horrible in terms of what they can do to your hardwood floors. Many are too caustic, and can damage the finish. Others are too wet, and can get between the cracks and made the wood expand and crack. The Bona does a super fine spray -- really a mist -- which saves our floor, and cost on the cleaning solution, as it does not require much. The cleaning solution has been carefully developed to be beneficial, not damaging, to hardwood floors. - Easy to use, and effective at cleaning. - The smell is very mild. 409 and Windex give me headaches consistently; I do not even notice the Bona. - There have been no clogs. - The product seems to be designed (unlike most cleaning products) to be able to use all of the liquid in each bottle, so there is little to no waste. CONS: - Somewhat more expensive than the competition. But consider that it is more than worth it, if it can keep you from refinishing or replacing hard wood floors unnecessarily. *** BOTTOM LINE *** After extensive research in choosing what to use on the finished hard wood floors of our new house, this is what I picked. And it has been great at doing the job, being easy to use, and keeping the floors safe.

I bought my first Bona hardwood spray mop in May 2008. I like it so much I ordered a second one from Amazon for upstairs. It arrived last week and it didn't work -- the trigger didn't make contact with anything, just flopped loosely. I didn't want the effort and expense of returning such a large, awkward item and decided instead to toss it. First, though, I thought I'd try to make it work -- and I succeeded. For anyone else who wants to try: I muscled the lower pole and handle section apart again, then disassembled the handle section with a T10 star head (Torx) screwdriver; inserted the plastic plunger inside its metal sleeve into the lower pole and fiddled with it until pressing the plunger got a spray; then reassembled the handle around the plunger/sleeve, matching the holes in the metal sleeve with the short raised circles inside the handle and positioning the trigger carefully. I didn't read the reviews before I ordered the mop, since I already have one and I like it. If I'd read the reviews, I'd have seen that ordering one is a gamble -- you might get a good one, or you might get one that doesn't work. I'd give 5 stars to my original mop, 1 star to the second mop. Update: Before I posted my review (on the weekend), I wrote to Bona through their website. They wrote back Monday apologizing. They said they had a manufacturing glitch about 6 months ago, since corrected, and some defective mops went out before they caught it; they're sending replacements to customers who got one. They sent me a replacement, although I didn't ask for one. It arrived by the end of the week. I put it together in a couple of minutes without any trouble, and it works fine. So -- ordering one is a gamble while faulty mops are still out there, but if you get a bad one Bona will replace it.

I bought one of these mops because I was hoping for a fast, easy way to clean the hardwood floors. And I like the idea of using non-toxic cleaning solutions. Assembly was fairly easy, and the mop worked fine. It is of sturdy plastic construction, and the spraying mechanism worked fine too. No problems there. However, the proof is in the pudding as they say. They whole point of this is to *clean* the floor. After cleaning a section of hardwood floor, using some elbow grease (no wussy pushing back and forth) and letting it dry, I took a white paper towel, ran it under the faucet, and then rubbed it over the area I just mopped. If the mop did its job, that paper towel should come up white, if not... Well, glad to say, it did come up white, so that tells me the mop did its job. There is also no smell at all from the cleaning solution, which is nice. We also have a couple of rambunctious cats who chase each other all over the house, and after a while, you get scratch marks in the hardwood floor where they do their 180s and sudden stops and starts. The mop cleaned those right up, scratches gone. No residue, no dull floors. Looks good. Have only used this once, but so far so good. If all goes south with the mop, I will re-post, but so far I think it was a good purchase. One tip - when inserting the cleaning fluid cartridge into the mop, give is a good push so it "clicks". It has to break the seal of the cartridge.

A couple of important tips that will save you a lot of headache; trust me. 1.Put the mop face on the lower half first, then put the pad on the face, that's out of the sequence from the sheet, but even Bona recommended that change in sequence when I spoke with them. 2. Insert the lower half of the mop handle into the upper half aligning the slots and press it in as far as it will go easily, then...... 3. Put the mop's head face down on the floor and have the two loosely assembled halves of the handle straight up and down from there and then push down hard, very hard, until they not only slide completely together, but until you ALSO hear a click; no click means you're not done. I pressed with I'd say 25 pounds of pressure (no click) and was afraid of breaking it so I called them, and they "said press harder, lots harder." Having the mop head on the lower half stabilized it for you to apply that kind of pressure. It just took a lot of force and I'm not a puny guy. Once that snap is completed the little plastic collar can slide up against the upper half where it stays. The final verification other than the click is that the trigger no longer hangs limp in the handle, you know it's latched onto something at this point. 4. When I inserted the fluid bottle after uncapping it, it seemed to snap in and it did spray but then petered out quickly, so I pressed it in again and it got some more which it sprayed out and then quickly ran out again. It turns out it's the same deal with the bottle, you have to press way harder than you think you should have to for it to really be bottom-seated and locked. Once it is in, really in, the spraying will be consistent until the bottle is empty. So my bottom line to you is, when pressing components together in this mop system, use more than a reasonable amount of force they've designed it that way. As a side note about this mop handle once snapped together it's designed for the two halves to never come apart which means if you won't be able to send it back in it's original carton. The original carton is 28" long, the assembled mop almost 52" long. The fluid container is refillable so it will pop out and once refilled you will need to press it in hard again. I liked the way the pattern of the spray fanned out, way out, and out in front of the mop, for normal that's great. If you need to wet the area closer to the mop head simply tilt the mop handle straight up and then spray and it will go immediately in front of the mop head, neat. I like the Bona products and I recommend that's what you refill this with. Another thing, I suppose you could mix-up some home batch of 409 and water, but if you decide to do that use distilled water. This spray fans out as good as it does because the spray nozzle isn't fouled up with any minerals from the local hard water. Better still is to stay with Bona products, and for your Costco members a gallon refill jug of the Bona cleaner hovers between $9-something and $11-something less than half all other places. It's just me, they don't say to do it, but I placed a zip tie through the fluid bottle handle and around the mop handle and zipped it snug. I did that so that, especially when it's full, the top heavy bottle in the moping process is held fast in place and doesn't have any tendency to move around. That may be why they made it snap in hard, but zip ties are cheap, and when I refill I will just snip my zip and apply a new one. Happy mopping. PS: It occurs to me with a different microfiber face (Amazon sells variety kits) you could fill the bottle with Windex and do your hard to reach windows. Also if your windows were mineralized from garden sprinkled spray or whatever instead of Windex you could use a De-Scale It product before the Windex. The fact this mop handle is made this well makes other possibilities possible. The only thing I cant say because I haven't tried it is how many sprays it will make if you have it inverted (pointing up) using it for window cleaning as I suggested. Ask me again in a few weeks and I'll know.

Recently, I moved into a 3-story townhome and soon after moving in, realized that this place needed a little TLC to get it where I wanted it to be! The people who lived here before us really let the place go . . . so here is where my new DIY section comes in! I’ve been doing so many little projects to just refresh the space and thought I would share my very first one: Hardwood Floor Re-Vamping! After the movers left, I started to go room by room and made a list of projects that needed to be done in order to make the place look as good as new. I wanted to make this place our own bottom to top – so what better place to start than the floors! As you can see in the before picture, the floors were heavily scuffed, marked with crayon and generally dull. There was even sticky spots that I couldn’t explain. I started to look around online and thought I would combine several tips that I found . . . here’s what I did to refresh these sad floors! Step 1: I went through both rooms in the house that had hardwood flooring and removed all of the scuff marks, crayon and sticky spots with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. You have to be a little careful with these on darker floors as they do tend to leave behind a little bit of a cloudy residue. Step 2: I used a standard dry Swiffer to sweep up any dust and dirt. Already my floors were looking better. Step 3: After doing some research, I settled on using a Bona Hardwood Floor Spray Mop to really deep-clean and shine the floors. The kit I ordered came with the mop, cleaning fluid and a microfiber pad – all for $39.00. I started with the farthest corner and sprayed a bit of the fluid using the mop handle trigger and then used the microfiber pad to just go over the floors a few times. I applied gentle pressure to loosen up some of the dust and dirt but used it just how I would use a Swiffer. I backed up and went over the entire floor until the room was done – I was shocked at how shiny and clean the floors were! There was no unpleasant odor and it dried almost immediately. Step 4: After I finished both rooms and had used only about 1/4 of the cleaner, I took the microfiber part off of the mop and simply threw it in the washing machine with some towels. It came out spotless and ready to go back on the mop! They also sell Bona Hardwood Floor Polisher separately that I’d like to try but for now, my floors are still holding a shine even after about a week of walking on them! I highly using this as part of your weekly cleaning routine!

I purchased the simpler plain mop from Bona and loved it. I love how the pads are interchangeable (duster, mop, polisher) and machine washable. When I saw the one with the built on sprayer I thought GREAT! but when It arrived it never worked. The sprayer never sprayed anything. Once you assemble the mop it doesn't unassembled, its locked into place. I would have returned but not really willing to lug it down to post office figure out how to ship a 5 foot long mop and then pay for the return. I emailed Bona with my complaint. They quickly sent back an email apologizing and assuring me that they would send me a replacement at no charge. I have yet to receive the replacement (just sent email today) but I appreciate the quick response. All other products have worked great from them. I hope that once I get the new mop I can change my review.

I had a Bono basic floor mop and a spray bottle of Bona that worked very well, but it took forever to dust/clean my 30' X 30' hardwood-floored living room. I bought the Bona Spray Mop, and it absolutely streamlined my floor-cleaning. I was surprised at how little Bona it used when I pulled the trigger. It dispenses the Bona in a fine mist with good force so that it spreads out and doesn't get the floor very wet, just enough to work, and it really does work well. I don't know what they put in Bona, but it certainly does a great job of keeping my hardwood looking clean. I also found that Bona Hardwood Cleaner works better on my stainless steel appliances than any stainless steel cleaner I've ever used. It cleans all the streaks and the dog nose-prints without leaving a film. I just bought 3 gallons of the cleaner. It works great on my kitchen cabinets, too.

The solution leaves my floor shining. I don't have to worry about scratches, streaks or residue.

As you can tell I have nothing but amazing things to say about this mop, after years of replacing the red and green mop systems, I'll never go back, but a few notes to everyone based on some of the reviews: 1. Assembly: The instructions are right there on/in the box, if you don't hear a 'click' when putting together the top two sections, the mop will either fall apart or the hose that is supposed to spray will spray air instead of liquid sometimes due to the two parts of the hose not being plugged in correctly 2. This mop is not like the ones you're all addicted to watching on Instagram, you don't throw the liquid around like water and then mop up and expect the residue just to vanish, you spray it lightly, that being said if you have kids or you're a messy cook, if you clean up something very dirty, mop it up and remove the mop head (ready for the washing machine) and put a new one on, so you don't spread filth everywhere (good idea to get a few to keep as spares) 3. Being a 360 mop doesn't mean you should use it like an Thor's Hammer, be cautious, this is exactly how the red or green mops break 4. If you have a very humid home (and you'll know if you do) the liquid will not evaporate quickly (where will it go), either open a window or invest in a dehuidifier, your floors should start drying at the 15sec mark, in a home where you have less than 30% humidity, those of you who have a normal dryer in the house are likely to already be at 50% 5. If you're a foot mopper, STOP, if you see some honey on the floor DO NOT put pressure on the mop head, you will break it. Apart from all that, its easy to use, zero waste, will protect your floor and is pretty allergy friendly and has a very neutral smell (those coming from Pine O Cleen, this will take some getting used to for you guys)

Well worth the money. Keeps my new wooden floor in great condition!!. Easy and quick to use. Easy to clean pad as there washable. Light weight easy to store. Around excellent piece of kit every home with dogs kids and wooden floor needs. A good affordable cleaning equipment. So what you waiting yup it!!!.
