Perfect barrier for small pets, polite larger dogs, or a bit of added safety near stairs
I LOVE this gate and have actually bought 2 for different uses as I needed this both for keeping pets in a secure area when visitors were going in and out, and for reminding an elderly relative to keep a safe distance from the stairs (he's a fall risk). Before finding this gate, I had bought various others that were much more expensive and there was always something that didn't quite fit my needs. I needed gates that could fit in wide spaces, were easy to open and close, looked nice, were super easy to install, didn't have a bar on the floor which could trip people, and were able to be customized for my needs (I have a cat and a dog, so I wanted to customize one gate to keep both pets secure when needed). These gates were/are perfect! Use 1: I used the first gate at the top of the stairs in my house to help remind an elderly relative not to get too close to the edge of the stairs. This gate is not super sturdy, so it probably wouldn't hold the weight of a person leaning against it, but this is not something I needed. I just need it to serve as a reminder, so for me it works well. For use with kids, I think it would be sturdy enough to keep a toddler out of an area, but not a child any older than 2-3 years old if they were determined to get through. This gate really is best for situations where you need a barrier, but are not dealing with a pet or a child who would be super rough about trying to get out. Use 2: I used the second gate to to make a barrier in a wide passageway (50 inches) to keep my dog and my cat in the living-room when needed. My dog is 45lbs and polite/good mannered, so he doesn't even try to get through the gate. My cat however, can easily jump and this gate (or any other gate) wouldn't be able to keep her in without a few adjustments. To keep my cat in, I got a thick curtain and hung it across the top of the passageway right above the gate. I then used velcro to attach the curtain to the top of the gate (the hand rail and some of the wood lattice) so that there were no gaps or areas that my cat could jump through. I basically used the gate and the curtain to make a nice looking and easy to slide open wall/ceiling high barrier that my cat can't get through either (but both my pets can still see through the gate). This has really worked out great as it's easy to use, can be removed easily, and does the job of securing my pets whenever the need arises. Overall, this gate is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone with similar needs to my own. :)

Great for keeping the DOGS out of the kitchen.
I know this is for babies BUT. I can see little baby fingers getting caught in the little bars that crosshatch over each other. Simple and affordable, Easy to install. It's NOT for chewers or anxious dogs that would try to use their body weight to break through something. They aren't the strongest. If you just need a divider to keep your dogs out of a room this works great. Easy to open and close. My favorite thing is no bar across the floor. You can also remove the whole thing easily. It's light and easy to move around. We left our dogs too long one Christmas night and we had a visiting dog that was a anxious barker. After a a few hours of that my dogs got anxious too. My 30 pound Shiba Inu managed to chew through and break off a couple slats, enough to crawl through.

Finally a gate that the humans can live with!
I really like this gate ALOT! I'm also glad that I paid the extra 10$ to get it in the dark stained farmhouse option. It looks so much better than the blonde option that looks like a gate from the 1950's! Anyway, back to the gate.....I gave it 4 stars for the sturdiness factor as at this point. I'm just not sure how well it will hold up because it feels a bit flimsy which may just be because of the scissor design, not like it will break soon, but that it may not hold up for the long term. But that being said, I gave it 5 stars overall because it's just that awesome! I was so tired of living with all the traditional baby gates that have a floor bar to trip over and the door openings are narrow and you need two hands to get them open. They are also very pricey if you need one for a wide opening and then the door is the same size (narrow) as a gate for a smaller opening! I'm not using this for babies/toddlers. I'm using it for dogs. We have a well trained German Shepherd and 3 small Shihtzus that we like to keep in our back hallway when they are wet, or for the GSD at night. It isn't the tallest gate so if you have a dog that would tend to jump it, you may need to mount it a bit higher off the floor to prevent that. For me, that would then allow my little dogs to go under. But our dog just needs the visual reminder of the separation so he doesn't try to jump it. I absolutely love the I can fold it back and swing it out of the way! That is my favorite thing about it. The latch is easy to use for every age group. Honestly though, we just lightly close it and it works for us to make it easier to open. The top rail is made of plastic, dark brown in our case, and it slides quite nicely. Installation is quick and easy using eye bolts that are included. With the position of our gate there was a stud right there, so we didn't need any drywall sinks. I'm not sure how well it would hold in the wall even with sinks with the constant opening and closing, but for me that is not an issue. If you are sick and tired of the traditional style baby gates don't give this one a second thought. For 40 Bucks, I'm am extremely happy that I got this.

Awesome gate, but installation is a bit finnicky.
What I like: It's a really great product with a great idea behind it. It works super well for a multi-functional space. At first glance, it seems like a bad product if you want to let cats through while keeping larger dogs out because there's no real way to modify the gate itself to let cats through, but I eventually came to the pretty simple solution of just mounting the gate 4 inches above the ground. Just mounting it a bit higher means there's enough space for cats to squeeze underneath, but dogs are kept out! Really good solution to keep the dogs out of the litter box area while still allowing free access to cats. I also really love how easy it is to remove the gate and/or fold it out of the way. I also love that it doesn't have that awful toe-destroying bottom bar that other gates have, it can fit in a variety of openings without any modifications or having to keep track of extenders, and it can be easily moved around to anywhere you need it. It also comes with a second set of eyelet anchors so you can install it in another location if you need to move it between two places frequently. If you need more anchors, they are very common basic anchors available at every hardware store on the planet. What I don't like: It basically requires power tools to install. I had to use a drill to make the initial holes for the eyelets. You might be able to install the eyelets by hand if you have soft drywall or strong hands, but I was 0/2 on that, so had to use a drill. You would also definitely need a drill if installing into anything harder than drywall. I'd also recommend using drywall anchors if you're putting it in drywall. The gate has been up for a week and already the eyelets are wobbling in the drywall and I'm planning to redo the install with drywall anchors. I just think it should at least come with drywall anchors if they're so obviously necessary. Another issue is that there's nowhere to hold it that feels natural while extending it and folding it back and I've pinched my fingers several times. I'll probably add a small knob or handle to the gate to make it easier to use, but, once again, it should really come with something like that. Overall/ TL;DR: I love the design (mostly), the functionality, and the cat-friendliness of it. It's a very versatile multi-functional design, easy enough to use, and leaves only minor things to be desired which can be easily dealt with in a $5-$10 trip to the hardware store. I will probably be buying another to use in another location in my house.

Last gate you will ever buy
I have literally tried 8 different gates and threw them away..This gate is the easiest and best gate and doesn't ruin your walls and installs in literally 5 minutes. And it is easy to swing open and back.....I'm in love with this gate..Whomever designed this is amazing human.

Great Little Expansion Gate
I know this is not for "outside " use, but it is up temporarily until I get a new fence gate. It works just great and is the right size. I hate to leave it out in the rain, but you gotta do what you gotta do! It is easy to operate and best of all this old senior did not have to assemble it. It is so much easier to use than those you have to lift the bar and re-adjust. I think you will love this for your home or deck. I know it will not last as long outside, but it works for me. Very pretty design too.

Expansion Gate is Great
The Expansion Gate for Dogs has been an absolute game-changer for my household! This gate has not only provided a safe and secure space for my dogs but also allowed them to enjoy some sunbathing without causing any inconvenience to our neighbors taking walks. First and foremost, the quality and durability of this expansion gate are remarkable. The gate is made of sturdy materials that can withstand the playful antics of my dogs. Its construction inspires confidence in its ability to contain even the most energetic pups. The installation process was straightforward, and I appreciated the flexibility it offers. The adjustable design allowed me to customize the gate to fit the exact dimensions of my outdoor area. This versatility ensures that it can be used in various locations, whether in doorways, on the patio, or around the yard. The gate's locking mechanism is secure and easy to operate. I can quickly latch and unlatch it, making it convenient for me to move in and out of the enclosed space while keeping my dogs safely contained. One of the standout features of this expansion gate is its height. It provides a sufficient barrier that my dogs can't jump over or climb, ensuring they stay where I want them to be. This height is perfect for allowing them to sunbathe comfortably without them being able to disturb or bark at passersby.

Fine when attached to studs. Not sturdy enough if just attached to drywall.
This one has 4 eyelet screws that you screw right into the wall, two screws on each side. Once the screws are attached, you can use the latch to open it from either side. You will need to install in a door frame or put it into wall studs on both sides to make it work safely. I did not think about looking for studs ahead of time, so we screwed this into drywall using the anchors that were provided. It did not last long screwed into the drywall even with the anchors. After about two months, the screws and anchors fell out and I had to move the screws a few inches away to a new spot, you can see I filled in the holes in the photo. Moving them is easy to do, especially since the door has free range to attach at any angle. You can set the eyelets at any level or height you want on the wall to allow for space at the bottom. We installed ours about an inch from the floor, but we need to sort of lift it lightly so that it doesn't drag across the floor. There are two kids and two adults opening it constantly, and it is a heavy traffic area. My four and five year old can open and close it just fine, but my one year old cannot. I use it at the bottom of the steps so he cannot go upstairs. I like that it stretches from 24" to 60" so that it can be used at any width. Like I said before it also works at any angle. The lattice within the gate is diamond shaped and the inside gaps when completely stretched are 3.5" wide by 5.5" high. There is also about a 1" gap between the frame and where it hooks into the wall. I would not use this at the top for fear the eyelet screws would get pulled out. I have used several baby gates, all different types. We use a metal gate at the top of the stairs that is hard for all of my kids to open and close - it is very sturdy and has lasted 5 years without any problems and only one side of the metal gate is in a stud - see photo. This is the only gate that has lasted without some sort of issue. Let me know if you have any more questions!

What a Find!
This gate is amazing in terms of the fact that it could either be used by contracting the gate (which means a little space can be accommodated for entry and exit) or it can swing open, giving a wider option for entry and exit. I bought this for the front door to ensure I can manage the cats and it works beautifully

Works well as a pet gate
I've installed this gate as a room divider to keep my rabbit from certain areas and it works very well. The gate is sturdy enough not to be toppled by the rabbit and stylish enough to be in my home at all times. I liked it enough that I bought another one. However, be careful in installing the anchors, as drywall isn't really strong enough to withstand the tension from opening and closing. Drilling in wood made a world of difference.

Pefect for what I needed it for
Bought this to replace a plastic gate that was difficult to fit tothe door jambs, and eventually warped . This gate, on the other hand, used to keep my dogs out of the living room when we are not at home. is perfect. Covers a wide horizontal distance. Installation is simple ....intall either the short eyescrews or the long eyescrews (supplied), and latch the gate onto them. Easy peasy. Gate is very robust and well made. Recommended..
