It hurts but in a good way
Anyone that is serious about dry skin brushing for health reasons, this brush is the real deal. It's definitely not for someone just dipping into skin brushing and thinking it'll give you that nice sensation as scratching itching skin. It took a few weeks for my skin to get used to this brush. Now it's almost a pleasure to use brushing on dry skin during winter.

Wonderful---BLISS
I bought one for me, my husband and my 80 year old mom who lived with us---ALL LOVED IT. It's like heaven. No more "lower---over there---no up a little", as YOU are in charge and can scratch where YOUR itch is. It's like a piece of heaven in your hands and we've been using them for years. My husband and I use it all over our bodies and can't stop once you start because it just feels so good. Then my 86 year old dad says each night he suffers SO badly from an itchy back and his wife scratches it and then puts a cortisol cream on or some anti-itch from the doctor. I sent him a brush and she rubs his back with it each night and don't you know----his itchy problems went away. He's in shock and in heaven and thanks me almost every time we talk for sending him this wonderful brush. I highly recommend this brush to everyone

Perfect for dry brushing!
I purchased this skin brush after learning about a technique called "dry brushing" (google it). It is supposed to increase blood flow, lymph drainage and help remove dead skin cells. If nothing else, it sure feels great! After reading the reviews, I chose to purchase this brush. It was just supposed to be my brush, but after seeing how good it felt, my whole family wants to use it (including my 2 year old). The bristles are coarse, but you are no supposed to use a lot of pressure. I was always told to only use the amount of pressure it would take to move a coin across the table. You just brush 2 minutes per day before showering and brush toward the heart (don't brush the face) using long gentle strokes. It feels great. I did see some reviews about the handle not staying on. The wood handle needs to be turned over and inserted that way, which is opposite from the way that you would expect the wood to slide in to the back of the brush. I made that same mistake when I got the brush, but turned the handle over and slid it on that way and it has never fallen off the brush since. The company should really put that on the instructions because I had initially thought that mine was useless as well. I would definately recommend this brush if you are looking for a skin brush. The price is reasonable. The handle is long enough to reach the back. The bristles are made from tampico fiber, which is the unbleached stem of the agave plant. The instructions say to clean the brush periodically with soap and water. Happy brushing!

I ordered a Yerba Prima brush, but got something else
We love the Yerba Prima brush and have used it for years. What we got is not the same, and is not Yerba Prima. Disappointing. It is not the same at all. The bristles are too short and stubby and the handle is not as long. Is this a reputable seller?

Its good, but you just have to break the bristles in to get it softer!
This is an edited review. Previously I gave this one star and a scathing report about how it wasn't anything I wanted to use on my skin because the bristles were very sharp and hard. I compared it to something one might use to scrub alge off concrete and worried about using it on my skin. I don't know what possessed me to try it again, but I started to use it very lightly on my skin. Within time, the bristles softened and my gosh, it is really truly a great brush. SO I'm back here to do what is right and give this seemingly awful product the review it deserves.Everyone, if you think this brush is too harsh, please take some time to break the bristles in. It WILL soften. Sadly there is no instructions that came with the brush to tell you this. The seller/producer should state this so that there is no upset. I use this now and I had soft skin to begin with, now it is even softer! My apologies to the seller for my original harsh review- I truly was not impressed when I got it, but now I see its actually a very good brush. Not complaining but the only thing (other than the hard bristles upon arrival) is that the brush part will fall off the handle rather easily, but with practice this can be avoided. Its not a big issue. This is actually a very good brush!!!! I am going to buy a second brush!

Yerba is a top quality brush
If you’re new to dry brushing you may want to work your way up to this brush, but if you’ve been brushing for awhile (I’ve been doing this on and off for over 15 years), there’s very few brushes that compare to a Yerba. My old Yerba had seen its better days so I decided to try another brush. It was ok, but the bristles weren’t stiff enough for me to feel I was getting a good skin brushing.I know a lot of people skin brush hoping to get smooth skin and eliminate cellulite from their thighs, but that’s not the reason I use it. It does give me incredibly soft skin, but my main reason for using is to help my lymphatic draining. When I was younger I would experience pain in my armpits during my monthly cycle. My breasts would also become super sensitive. My mother said that’s the way she had always been and I must have inherited that symptom. Then I read about dry brushing and it’s benefits to your lymph, including less painful armpits and breasts. So I started using a dry brush. And just like that, the pain and swelling were gone. I was hooked and continued to use it when necessary. My mother died of breast cancer 4 years ago and I made the vow to begin dry brushing regularly. She never tried dry brushing even when I told her how much it helped.Yerba is a quality brush and I highly recommend it.

Item received is not what is pictured
Like several others said, the received item is not what is advertised. The brush head does not disconnect from the handle nor does it have a strap over the back. However, it does seem to be a nice enough brush. If you come here looking for the actual pictured item, I would advise you look for something else. No telling if you will get what you wanted.
