Delicious! Beware that « Mild » does have a kick
This was my first time trying this product, and I love it. Already bought a second! It really enhances noodles and I also used it to tone down the over-sweetness of a frozen Chinese sweet and sour chicken dish. Some people may dislike that you have to really stir the oil with the crunchy part, but it gives you control of how much oil you use. Even though this is the mild flavor of this product, it was still too spicy for my husband, so if you are feeding spice haters, this will not work. For the spice lovers, YUM!

Taste is decent, has an odd flour taste in the finish
Decent chili crisp. Makes eggs edible for me. Good on meat, mixed with Mayo or sour cream makes a nice dip. Over all a nice product but it still has that odd flour taste as a finish. Need to try heating it gently and see if that helps for me…might be perfect for you and my taste is different! Recommend trying!!

Tasty!
I had a recipe that asked for this particular item. It is great. Made a huge difference in the flavor of the dish.

Disgusting.
I primarily bought this product as an alternative to hot sauce. "Mild" is about as spicy as fresh cracked black pepper, so in terms of spice, it's pathetic. The flavor is terrible. Up front, it tastes like over-toasted onions, in the middle it's very muted garlic with no bite, and at the end, it's just... this nutty, oily taste, like sesame oil but very stale. The texture? Watch your teeth; if you have soft teeth DO NOT eat this product, as the crunchy bits are not crunchy at all, but rather, tiny ground up bits of hardened peppercorn. The aftertaste is overpowering, and for the next twelve hours, it repeated on me. Even if you mix it up, this product remains a big pool of oil, and not a pleasant oil like olive oil... it's more like grease. Do better, Mr. Bing! Throwing mine out.

Too Salty
I bought Mr. Bing Chili Crisp ($11.99) as a cheaper alternative to Hot Crispy Oil ($14.99). I was swayed by the endorsement of one of my favorite chef's, Jet Tila. I'm sad to say that it did not live up to my expectations. Compared to Hot Crispy Oil, which has large pieces of garlic and shallots, Mr. Bing is more like minced garlic. The first time I ever had crispy chili oil, it was also minced but I still loved it and it began my journey to finding the best crispy chili oil. Unfortunately, Mr. Bing's dominant taste is salt and does not have the depth of flavor of the other crispy chili oils I have tried, hence the 3 stars for flavor and the 2 stars for value for the money. I did appreciate that my jar was plastic instead of glass as I saw lots of reviews where the glass jars broke in transit.
