My LO is a swaddle breaking champion. It never seems to matter how snug they are, in what feels like the blink of an eye, there are those little hands...and a wide awake baby. DH and I were getting desperate to find something to contain those hands and allow LO--and by extension ourselves--to sleep. On a 3 a.m. sleep-deprived whim, I searched for "arm swaddle". I was beyond excited when I saw this product...until I saw the price tag. DH and I went back and forth for almost another sleepless week until during another 3 a.m. sleep-deprived episode, I looked at him and said, "We are getting this. We cannot do this anymore. If it doesn't work, we'll send it back, but at least we will have tried." Fast forward about a week and a half: We have used this miracle swaddle each night and sometimes naps, too, and let me reassure you if you are like me and concerned about the price: Worth. Every. Damn. Cent. LO sleeps, we sleep, the world is a brighter place, and we have regained some semblance of sanity. I can lay LO down without worrying they will break their swaddle, their arms are by their side, inhibiting their Moro (startle) reflex, we can latch easily at night without little hands getting in the way, and while they initially protest losing access to their hands when they go in, within seconds, LO is calm and dozing. This product is truly an answer to prayer. We ordered both sizes (3 a.m. desperation doesn't play), and our 9 lb., 8 oz., 22.5" 1 month old fits the small perfectly. It works well with standard swaddle blankets, as well as swaddle and sleep sacks/pods. LO sleep in Halo swaddle sleep sacks at night and takes naps in swaddle blankets during the day. We live in the deep South, and LO has not been overheated using any combination. We are so thrilled with this purchase that we are planning to purchase another to be used when the current one is in the wash. If your LO is the fastest swaddle breaker in the West (or anywhere else), I encourage you to try this swaddle. It has been a sanity and sleep saver for our family.

This wrap is amazing! My son is 4 months old, 19lbs and 26 inches long. I ordered the large and it’s perfect. He grew completely out of the xl swaddles that velcro and is very strong. So even when I tried to swaddle him tight he would bust out like Houdini. He would wake himself up because his hands were free to rub his eyes and knock the pacifier out of his mouth. So I looked into alternatives. I thought, we’ll he’s not rolling yet, but let me try the sleep sack and see if he will sleep. Nope, arms flailing everywhere. So I saw this and saw it had some decent reviews. I decided to give it a try, even though I was worried he would break out of the velcro closures. I used the sleep sack and then put this swaddle strap on. The strap has a interior part that velcros around the torso. Then the outer part has two little pillow like parts that go under the arms for comfort and stability. Then you just wrap it and Velcro it down. It works like a charm! This is my second day using it, but I can’t foresee any issues with it. It is not stretchy, so it won’t stretch out, but it’s large enough that he can keep wearing it until he starts to roll over. Also the Velcro is very strong! This is great because it’s close to impossible for him to try and break out of it. I highly recommend this to anyone that needs that swaddle, but their kid is big like mine.

Absolutely love this product! My baby is very fussy and constantly rubs his face and hair, which made it hard for him to stay asleep. This really helps — he sleeps better at night and seems more settled. Soft, safe, and worth it.

This is a brilliant invention. I love that I can change a diaper and keep the baby swaddled, and also that it is cool and does not overheat the baby like a conventional blanket might. It's also pretty fool & baby proof. I never could get the hang of getting a swaddle blanket to stay snug and the baby would inevitably struggle free. Not so with this thing. It's the perfect little baby straight-jacket. My only - somewhat minor complaint is that I like the velcro layout of the small strap better than the velcro layout of the large strap - the large strap has 2 narrow strips of soft velcro that the large scratchy pad sticks to instead of one thick strip like on the smaller strap, so there is always some part of the scratchy velcor that is exposed. this is problematic for washing - as other clothing will get snagged, and it also means there's some possibility that the baby will be exposed to the scratchy part. But this is a relatively minor complaint on what is an extraordinarily useful product.

This swaddle is Ah-mazing!! I am a first time mom with a baby that has a strong startle reflex and doesn't sleep well at all without being swaddled. What do I mean by not sleeping well? I mean that hee longest block of sleep is three hours at night, followed by an hour and a half followed by waking up every forty minutes until morning. (She is 17 pounds and over four months old.) For the last few weeks I have turned into a person so tired that I can barely walk to the bathroom or bed without feeling faint and the need to sit down. Last week I did more research online in a desperate attempt to see if there were any more products out there that might be able to help. In my moment of desperation I bought the next size up of the Baby Merlin Magic Sleepsuit, the Large size of the Love to Dream Swaddle Up, and this product. This product was the first to arrive, so I used it last night. My baby went from waking around 8 times a night to two. She woke up at around 1.30am and at 5.45am. I am in absolute heaven as I have had the first decent night of sleep in weeks. Thank you to the wonderful parents who invented this product for babies like mine. You saved my sleep and my job. (My maternity leave is up soon and I was going to quit because I couldn't function well enough to return). In sum, if your baby is waking up because he or she has a strong startle reflex and moves around a lot (and is not hungry), or because he or she has trouble settling after each sleep cycle, BUY this product. It will save your sleep!!! My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. The last few weeks would have been much more enjoyable with my lovely daughter if I had not been suffering from severe sleep deprivation.

My 3mo baby boy is a mega hot sleeper and it is hard to put him to sleep swaddled because he gets super uncomfortable really fast. This swaddle strap is seriously perfect for him. My husband wanted me to try and thin blanket folded up and just covering his arms and torso before buying yet another sleeping sack type item but my son just wiggled it up over his shoulders and around his face, which is not okay. So I got this and he falls to sleep so much more easily. 10/10 would recommend if swaddling with a blanket is too warm for your baby. Otherwise, using a fuzzy blanket that can grip itself easily is much cheaper and just as efficient, if not more comfortable. UPDATE: After having this for just shy of a month and only washing it once and hang drying it, the velcro is not as sticky. My baby is able to pretty easily undo the velcro ny wiggling enough and getting it loose. It was amazing until the velcro started failing:/

We got one of these for our newborn when he was about 2-3 weeks — he really wanted his hands at his face, so he would bust through the swaddle, but then would wake himself up with his startle reflex and be SO upset. It made the first few weeks so rough! We had velcro swaddles, but our little guy was still a bit too small for those (born 7lbs 5 oz) — this arm swaddle was the perfect bridge til he was big enough to use the velcro ones. You could absolutely just use this with swaddle blankets instead of velcro swaddles as baby gets bigger (I would have if I hadn’t received velcro swaddles at my baby shower). The magic of these will save you if you are in the first weeks of baby’s life! Newborns literally have no control over their arms; even if you think your baby “loves” to have their hands at their face, as ours did, you will find they love not being disturbed by their startle reflex even more! This arm swaddle immediately got our baby to relax and start sleeping according to his schedule at only 3 weeks old (if you’re wondering — schedule is from my holy grail, “Moms on Call - 0-6 Months” book, which got our newborn to start sleeping 5-7 hrs each night at 3 weeks old. He’s now 11 weeks old on the schedule, has slept predictably during the day and through most of the night since being on the schedule, and is now sleeping 10-11 hrs at night! It’s crazy!! Get the book while you’re here buying this!). Moms on Call says you must buy their special (expensive) swaddles and learn their technique (which I struggled with); never bought their swaddle, just used this with larger swaddle blankets and it worked perfectly! If you’re struggling with a very cranky newborn that likely just needs to sleep, give this a try. I would absolutely gift this along with some nice swaddle blankets, and the Moms on Call book, for a new mama, and would present it as “the gift of sleep and a happy baby” ;) My husband and I have had no trouble sleeping since week 3, when our baby went from pissed off all the time to happy and beaming, and this arm swaddle was an important step in making all that happen!

My son is one of those babies who scratch their face and cries, wake up during the night because of Moro reflex. We swaddled him but he kept getting out of it or managed to take his hand out, so I fixed the swaddle few times a night. Out of desperation I was looking for advices on reddit and found the link on this swaddle, which was a life saver indeed. We use size L (blue one) because size S (grey one) was too small on our 3month old (for reference pics of both sizes attached). If you’re in doubt i would just suggest size L. Now he sleeps well, no extra hustle to swaddle him ever as it is so easy to just wrap around him. It doesn’t slide up or down thanks to the inner wrap. Velcro is strong. There are many baby must haves, but in our experience this swaddle would be in our top 5 for sure. I even wonder why this is not the standard swaddle, babies are so strong they just get out of the regular swaddle easily peasily.
