Hobart 500566 Airforce 40i Plasma Cutter 240V

This is a fantastic plasma cutter. It cuts metal like a hot-knife through butter. It is very easy to use, and ready right out-of-the-box, with practically zero learning curve. The indicator lights (e.g. low-pressure) are self-explanatory and easily identified. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a plasma cutter.

does a good job cutting

This is my first plasma cutter, and I've only used it three times. However, it has cut what I've worked on much faster than I thought it would. In fact, for metal 16-gauge or thinner it has to be used very quickly for its cut to be clean. For heavier stock it is much superior to my oxyacetylene torch, with which I have many years experience. Don't know about its consumables' longevity yet, but the unit has functioned flawlessly for me so far. I took the time to set it up properly, and it made me smile with the first use. Ground clamp could be heavier duty, but is serviceable as it comes. Read the manual carefully, and follow its guidelines. Requires a 50-AMP breaker, but could not be simpler to adjust for whatever job you face.

Im a self employed welder of 30 plus years, im not a weekend warrior welder, I have used several brands of welding equipment, you cant go wrong with Hobart. I recently purchased a plasma cutter of another brand made in some other country, the price was about 1/3 of the cost of Hobart, BUT, I had issues with it 10 minutes out of the box, I don't have time to trouble shoot a brand new machine, and shouldn't have to, so it was sent back, and the Hobart was purchased, pulled it out of the box and hit the ground running, this Hobart machine runs through 3/8 wall pipe with ease. my advise is spend the extra money and get the best. Cheap is not always good. MY.

Great product it works perfectly as it were advertised and even better. It was so easy to set up and get working and it did the cutting really easy.

Shopped around at local stores for this same plasma cutter but found Amazon to have the best price. Unit arrived well packaged with no damage. The plasma cutter is lighter than I expected but does an amazing job of cutting 3/8 steel plate. I have no complaints with the Hobart 40i plasma cutter.

Awesome machine! This thing will cut with best of them. A lot of power in a small package. You will NOT be disappointed! I am glad that I went ahead and went with this model 40 than settling for the smaller size. There is nothing more frustrating than wishing you would've went bigger. This thing cuts 1/4 inch plate like a hot knife through butter!

Haven’t used it yet but came in great condition. Read instructions and seems straight forward
