Does the elan connetc use 'shoutcast' as it's internet portal? the bbc is about to stop transmitting via shoutcast in 2023.

Hi, I asked the same question about the single speaker version of this radio. The replies I got weren't very helpful, so I checked the pure website and according to them:- 
"The following Internet Radios may be affected by the BBC Internet Streaming switch off, and we are conducting a feasibility study to see if we can offer a software update.

Also I currently have an internet radio which streams via shoutcast. When on BBC stations I regularly get a message saying this stream will be stopped in mid 2023. So, putting 2&2 together I assume owners of Pure Elan connect radios aren't getting this message as it's using either the HLS or DASH streams.
Hope that helps. I've got an Elan Connect plus arriving on Monday, so should be able to confirm if it's still playing the message I'll be returning it!!

Can anybody advise on the internet portal the Connect + uses and if you can manually add streams.

For the Elan Connect+ you can manually add streams. I checked this myself before purchase and I didn’t want to be dependant on a 3rd party service in case it goes down in the future.

Apparently, if you do have a service you require putting on the database, you can email Pure and ask for it to be added.

Question 3

Does the radio support israeli internet radio in hebrew? 
if so is it easy to navigate to these stations?

While I have no direct experience with this radio station, I can answer in general.  The language does not matter.  The radio will play a radio station regardless of language.  IF THE STATION STREAMS ONLINE (if you can go to the station's web site on your computer or phone, and stream its live broadcast), it will be as easy to navigate to it, as to any station.

Hi - If using Rechargeable batteries, will this radio charge them while its plugged in to mains?  Thanks
