Good quality.
Good sound and good quality for the price. doesn't break the bank. the only criticism I would have is that if you got a nice thick neck they can be a little snug. So, keep that in mind if you're one of them thick necked lumber jacks. but, if you're a regular sized man or a lady I think that they would be comfortable for you

> DOES THE JOB
BEHIND THE NECK HEADPHONESIn short, this general "behind-the-neck" headphone design is the most comfortable type you can purchase. They also the best at staying in place when exercising. For me, the Maxell NB-201 headphones are VERY uncomfortable---but your head may be shaped differently.GENERIC SHORTCOMINGS OF BEHIND-THE-NECK HEADPHONESYou can buy a half-dozen different headsets which look identical except for the brandname. Some will be comfortable, some won't. Some reviewers rave about the comfort of models that hurt my ears. Some models which I find very comforatble are complained about by other reviewers. Apparently different folks have different shaped heads, which is important to the fit of behind-the-neck headphones, but not for other types of headphones/earbuds. So, when you find a set which is comfortable for you---buy an extra set or two and stash them.OTHER TYPES OF HEADPHONES"Top of the head" headphones slip easily, require adjustment, interfere with wearing hats and interfere with women wearing hair "up". The only purpose for which a "top-of-the-head" headset is better, is for listening to music while taking a nap.Apple/airline type earplugs are just plain uncomfortable, fall out of your ears easily, and do not provide the noise isolation of earbuds. However, they can be adapted to earbuds. For example Earphone Adapters - Premium, Comfort Fit In-ear Tips for iPod and other Earphones / Earbuds (Black)Earbuds, although a good choice in many situations, can become are uncomfortable after several hours. That said, for the past 6 months I've become addicted to Panasonic RP-HJE120-PPK In-Ear Headphone, Black. I can wear them all day with no discomfort, The sound quality is not quite as good as the Sony MDR-G45LP Street Style Neckband Headphones (Black) which I often wear at home for listening to uncompressed classical music---but is certainly good enough for me.ADJUSTABILTIY"Behind-the-neck" headphones are non-adjustable because no adjustment is necessary. In fact, that is one of the advantages of "behind-the-neck" headsets.CORD LENGTHDespite the silly complaints of a few other reviewers that the cord is short, it is in fact the standard length---long enough for you to carry your MP3 in your pants pocket. Short is better than too long---you can always add a cheap extention, for example Cables To Go 40405 3.5 mm Male/Female Stereo Audio Extension Cable, Black (1.5 Feet/0.45 Meters). If the cord is too long, it will catch on things, straining the cord at the plug----which is what will ultimately kill the headset. If you need an extension, consider an extension with a built-in volume control Koss VC20 Volume Control. If you can, wear the cord inside your shirt (or blouse) to prevent it snaging on things.SOUND QUALITY> IN GENERAL-- It does matter what you are listening too. It is a bit absurd to buy $500 (or even $50) headphones to listen to highly- compressed downloaded or streaming music. Don't get hung up on theoretical sound quality unless you are listening to the highest quality recordings.> The sound quality of the Maxell NB-201 headphones is VERY crisp and clear, (unlike many headsets which are optimized to "pump up the bass" which makes voice and treble muddy).CONSTRUCTION QUALITY> The plug of the Maxell NB-201 headphones is straight which means that it will pull out of your MP3 player easily rather than straining the wire at the plug. Virtually all headsets "die" by strain on the wires at the plugs---so straight plugs are far better than angled plugs.> UPDATE, this has become much less an issue over the last few years, as most manufacturers have greatly improved the quality of the cords.OVERALLThe Maxell NB-201 headphones is a very good headset for the price, albeit obviously not the equal of $100+ audiophile headsets for listening to music.MY QUALIFICATIONSI use headphones at least 12 hours per day, and have used every style which exists. Over the past 20 years, I have owned probably 50 headphones (including at least 20 behind-the-neck sets.GENERAL RECOMENDATIONS"Behind-the-neck" headphones are the most comfortable, period. I wear "behind-the-neck" headphones at home/work (I work at home) about 12 hours per day. When I go "out", I wear earbuds, such as JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds (White), because they are less obtrussive, and easy to "put away" if necessary. Earbuds are also useful for noise reduction in noisy environments (traffic, mall noise, etc.). If you want true noise reduction (for airline flights, mowing the lawn, etc.) you need active noise-cancellation. Phillips makes a cheap noise-cancelling set which works remarkably well. Philips SHN2500/37 Noise-Canceling Earbuds. I replace the earbuds (in both my J-Buds and my Phillips noise cancelling set) with 3-level buds for greater comfort and better noise isolation. 2 Pair, Mens Size - Earphones Plus Brand, Tri-Level, Replacement Ear Cushions, Earbuds for Sound Isolating Earphones. (See Fit Information in Details Below), Larger headsets which consist of rubber cups over your ears, with active noise-cancelling, are even better, but are very expensive, and bulky when traveling. Perfectly acceptable gym headphones
Gets the job done for headphones I wear at the gym and throw in my gym bag afterwards. They haven't broken, and the sound is fine for what I need. They aren't particularly comfortable, but they're fine. (I will also say that I think my head is particularly big. I mention because these things are tight and feel made for someone with a much smaller head, but they're definitely tolerable.)

So Happy I bought These
I used to have the Sony around the neck headphones and they were the best I ever had. Unfortunately they can't be bought for a reasonable amount of money any longer so I took a chance on these and am so glad I did.I've tried many over the head/ears versions and earbuds and each were horrible. I have a tiny head/features and earbuds were always too big and over the head hadphones would press my glasses into my temples. Both of these problems led to almost immediate headaches. Not with these around the neck headphones! They nestle below my glasses arms and don't go into my ears so I'm able to comfortably listen to my media with no issues! As someone who just wants to be able to hear lower volume media better these are perfect, but they aren't noise canceling if that's what you're looking for. They're great for anyone who wants to still be aware of other sounds.

All Bad, No Good
I hate earbuds. Hate ‘em. For me, they don’t stay well and they irritate the inside of my ear. So I went looking for the kind of headphones that hook over the ear and have foam pads instead of buds. This style was everywhere in the early-to-mid-2000s and they worked beautifully for workouts or short periods of time listening to music. Now there are only a couple of options in this style, and this model was the only accessible one at the time. Unfortunately, this option has no redeeming qualities. At maximum volume, they are still quite quiet. The ear hooks are also stationed too close to the foam pads, so that when you put the headphones on the hooks will pinch your ear. And because the hooks are stiff plastic, you can’t reposition them.As much as I’d love to love these headphones, there’s nothing to love, even at their low price.

Not comfortable and not great sound
They're pretty cheap, and everyone's head is shaped different, so they may work for you. For me, they were too tight on the ears so I'm not going to use them. The sound quality is pretty bad. I wouldn't listen to music with them. At best for me they could be as a set of headphones for a phone conference where audio quality isn't that important.Good back-of-the-neck headphones are getting to be harder and harder to find so I don't feel bad about spend $8 on these to try them, but they were a bust and I'm not going to use them.

A little small, but good sound quality
I'm not an audiophile. In fact, I'm kind of a luddite. For that reason, I really like these headphones. No dials, no switches, nothing fancy, just things that go over my ears and behind my head, and a plug that goes into a headphone jack. They're a little on the small side, so if you have a big melon like I do, you may not want these in particular. At the price point, though, they're perfect. I wouldn't wear them for running, but for hanging around the house or going on a walk, they're fine. So far, they're also quite durable. I've sat on them, stepped on them, dropped them, and otherwise abused them in a variety of ways, and they just keep going.
