My adult daughter's finger tip was BURNED BY HOT BATTERIES. The second battery had been very difficult to insert (two inline AA), as if there wasn't enough room. She screwed the battery cover back on, but the flashlight did not work to give to her toddler. (I was there and watched all this.) She uncovered the batteries to check inside. When she touched the only visible battery she yelled because it had burned her fingertip. We managed to get both batteries out with a tiny screwdriver. They were extremely hot! I could feel the heat through a cloth. The flashlight plastic could have melted or caused a fire. We will not buy this again. Beware if you ever have difficulty inserting batteries into anything. Check them to see if they get hot before using the item. They aren't supposed to get hot.

This flashlight has worked well for us. Bought it as a stocking stuffer for our daughter for Christmas more than a year ago. I think I've only changed the battery two or three times since then. It starts to get "blinky" (as my daughter calls it) when the batteries need replacing. But the button is great and easy to use for small hands and now her younger brother wants to use it, too. The flowers design is really cute. She mostly uses it in bed to "read" books at bedtime before she falls asleep (I'm convinced that aside from reading to kids, personal bedtime reading helps grow a reader/book-lover). Now I need to locate a good option for my younger son!

The instructions on the advertisement said that there was a screw that holds the batteries in place. There is no screw. The product is a little less sturdy than expected. The batteries seem to bounce around inside the casing so that the light doesn’t stay consistent. Otherwise it’s an okay flashlight. My kids like them.

Seems good so far, they redesigned it so the front unscrews and the batterys go under the flower head. I read the other reviews and lots of complaints with batteries not fitting. They definitely corrected that problem and my daughter loves her flashlight and it's not overly bright.

I think the spring part for the battery chamber is too big because it's impossible to get them to fit the way they're meant to. I was just able to shut it with the bump of one barely touching the flat of the other and that is just enough contact to work, but I'm disappointed it doesn't just fit as it's meant to. I question the quality control on this flashlight.
