Purchased at the end of 2022 and it came with 2023-2029, so they seem to update it yearly to have upcoming years!

Hi happysab, this is recommended for age 3-6 yrs. my preschooler loves to change the calendar every day. It's educational and great fun!

What years are offer with this if I purchase at the beginning of 2021

I’m not so sure mine came until 2024maybe your can come the same years or until 2025

Do the magnetic pieces have small, separate magnets on them, or is it like some M&D items where its magnetic paint and therefor flat on the back?

its like most m.d items with the magnet and the painted picture on the top. no extra attached magnet so not a choking hazard. now this one actually has bigger magnets. the other calendar that M.D makes has small little magnets for numbers. these are a bit bigger so definitely more appropriate for preschoolers. hope that helps some.
