Trailer Aid Camco Tandem Tire Changing Ramp with 4.5-Inch Lift, Yellow (21000)

I bought one of these a few years ago but I guess I did a long term loan to the person that borrowed my trailer and had to buy a new one. It's nice not having to carry the additional floor jack in our horse trailer now so this takes up less room. Plus they sell a bracket that allows you to mount and store it up off the floor. You could pull it out and use it the first time without any instructions and get the tire changed quickly. Just drive the good tire onto the jack (slightly loosen the flat tire lugs first) and it lifts the flat/bad one off the ground to change it. No jack that slips. As with any jack, you do need a stable surface to sit this on or you will bury it in soft surfaces if the trailer weights enough (like our loaded horse trailer). So, as with some jacks, there is no need to unload weight before using this - we've safely changed a tire while the 3 horses were in the trailer. I also love the bright yellow color on this as it helps make it easier to see if you *do* sit it on the floor of the trailer. You can easily drill 2 holes in each side and secure some nylon rope to make a handle for it if you with. As I said, we had a similar trailer jack before but this design has some good grips along the bottom to help keep it in place while pulling the trailer onto it. There are some saw-teeth parts and a few round knobs that appear to have rids that run up the side towards the top - more than likely helping with the support of the base design. Over all, I would buy another in a heart beat if another friend "borrows" it again. Or charge them for it so I can buy another.

I bought this about a year ago and never used it. I had someone tell me that it didn’t work for them on this big camper, so I didn’t know if it would work on my trailer, but it does. And it’s perfect. Made changing this tire a much easier.

This product was shown at a class for new RV Trailer owners at Curtis Trailer in Aloha Oregon, the product has multiple uses, is quality built and provides an easy way to change tires without having to climb under the RV. It is light and easy to carry and seems a definite improvement over having to jack up the RV using your truck jack and blocks of wood. For a low cost it adds piece of mind.

Well, I've had this for about 8 months and finally had the unfortunate circumstances to use it lol. While towing my boat on a tandem axle trailer, I hit a pot hole and smashed one of the rims. This lead to a blow out and the need to change the rim/tire. We weren't very far from the boat ramp and parking lot so, I decided it would be safer to do it there. After breaking the lugs loose, I laid Trailer Aid down and backed the trailer onto it (which took all of 15 seconds). Once under the good rim/tire on the same side it provided me plenty of clearance (easy 4-5 inches under the tire) to pull the bad one off and toss the spare on! Honestly, I was super impressed with how easy and efficient it made the process. Now, I was hustling as my boat was still at the ramp but the whole process took me only about ten minutes without having to set up a jack and all that mess. I toss one in the back of my truck every time I tow the boat and even bought a few more to toss in my other trailers. Really, really great design and about as easy to use as you could ever imagine. Its a little bulky but way lighter than a jack and I would highly recommend this to anyone if it fits your needs!

This is our 4th one of these, we've got one in each of our trailers. Worth every single penny. I don't care if you're at home or on the side of the road, it saves soooo much time and it's rock solid even for a 16k pound trailer. While we don't like to, we have used this even with 4 draft horses (~1,800# each) in the trailer and we don't worry too much about it moving around.

Great product. Takes the stress out of changing tires. Immediately made it into my 'never tow without it' tool kit. Simple to use by yourself, did not slip at all when I recently changed out four tires on my fifth wheel RV. I augmented the ramp with a bottle jack under the axle to take some of the load just to be safe. I got the large one and it worked great with my 235/85R16 tires which run 31.7 inch diameter. Plenty of lift, but obviously the spread between your axles will affect that, my tires happen to have about 2 inches of space between them.

This is a tandem wheel changers dream, is well made, very easy to use, and fast shipping with Prime. Simply drive up or back onto the good tire/wheel very slowly with one foot on the brake and have spotting assistance. The base has multi-type grips for any surface and does not slide. If you overshoot it just keep going and re-position it, try again and go slower. Do not stop as it decends the back side as you can not go back-up the steep side, or move the unit with weight on it. Mine is a 24' trailer. Highly recommend item. Don't leave home in a tandem wheeled RV without one of these onboard; that is when you are bound to get a flat. This make a foul job very easy.

I had read mixed reviews about this product and whether it gets the tyre far enough off the ground to change, but it works perfectly on my dual axle horse float. Drive one tyre onto the trailer aid and the other tyre is the perfect height off the ground to change. Works for both front and back tyres. Very happy with this product.
