how is this product installed?

Not sure if you meant used rather than installed. You need a set of A/C gauges. It is a bit tedious to explain. You will on see that on these gauges that you have 3 hoses, 1 goes to high pressure (red), one goes to low pressure (blue) and one goes to the Freon Canister (yellow). You need to pour appropriate amount of dye in the yellow hose before screwing it on the set of gauges (opposite to the end that would go on the Freon canister). Try to find a video on the subject. It will be easier.

After putting it in I don't see any leaks. How long does it take to be able to spot a leak?

Can i put this on my water reservoir to find a leak in my car cooling system? (not planning to use it on ac)
