Excellent adapter!
I was looking to purchase a USB>Ethernet adapter for my Series2 Tivo. Since the Tivos are known to be a little picky about the adapter used, I did a lot of research to find out what was out there. This adapter kept popping up, so even though it's not listed on Tivo's website ([...] I decided it was worth a shot. It had gotten great reviews pretty much everywhere. The adapter (TU2-ET100) arrived yesterday. The USPS shipping was a bit slow, having actually PASSED my house in route to another hub before coming to me. But the packing was good, and it was in a nice box with a CD and fairly basic instruction book. I did not need either. The adapter itself is pretty light weight, but not fragile. It's a little boxy, but that actually is a good thing as I want it to sit flat. Within a second of plugging this in to my Tivo, it had obtained an IP address from my router and was churning away with full-duplex speed! The world of networked Tivo has opened lots of cool doors, thanks to this simple little adapter! According to the box, this adapter WILL work with the Nintendo Wii, as well. Note to those looking... BE CAREFUL not to mistake this with the TRENDnet USB to 10/100Mbps Adapter (TU-ET100C) adapter, which sells for a similar price (slightly cheaper) and looks more "modern", but only operates on the USB 1.1 specification. Also note... don't waste your time going to Best Buy. They don't sell these, and the guy who offered to help me find it told me matter-of-factly that "there is no such thing as a USB>Ethernet adapter." Sure thing, buddy.

Ethernet for Roku Streambar
I use this on my Roku Streambar SE so I can plug in wired ethernet. The Roku Streambar recognized it immediately and set up was just as easy as the setup for wired ethernet on a Roku ultra. So if you're looking for an ethernet connection to your Roku or Ion/Roku soundbars, I can attest that these works great.

Worked perfectly for my Roku Smart Soundbar
For some unknown reason, Roku did not include an ethernet port on their Smart Soundbar. I mean, why in the world would you want high-bandwidth, low latency connectivity for a high-definition streaming device, right?!? Sheesh. Anyway, they *do* include a USB-A port, and they do support a limited number of USB ethernet adapters, including this specific one. I plugged it in and it worked immediately! Great throughput, no wireless lag, and no saturation of my wifi network with streaming. Note that the USB-A port is the old, rectangular, only-plugs-in-one-way technology and is also has lower throughput than modern-day USB-C ports, so the throughput on this ethernet adapter is limited to a theoretical maximum of 100 megabits per second (mbps). In reality I get around 70-80 mbps, which is more than enough for very high definition content streaming. Highly recommended.

Great for a Week... Then Suddenly Ghosted Me Like a Bad Date
This Trendnet USB to Ethernet adapter worked fine for about a week—then decided to start dropping connections like it was auditioning for a disappearing act. One minute I’m surfing smoothly, next minute, poof—internet gone, forcing me to reconnect like I’m in some kind of digital Groundhog Day. Supports Windows and Mac OS, sure—but apparently not “stable connection” OS. If you want a gadget that’s good at keeping you frustrated and offline, this one’s perfect. Would give zero stars if I could, but hey, at least it worked for a week!

Great for HP ProLiant ML350 Gen10 connection time ILO5
This review is for a specific use: Connecting a laptop to a Server's ILO so there's technical jargon that may not mean much if you're just using this to adapter to connect your computer to a network. I use it to plug into the ILO USB jack in the front of HP ProLiant ML350 Gen10 servers. You don't need Gigabit speed for this so 10/100 is fine. You can connect directly to ILO5 interface without having to plug the regular ILO network port (in the back of the server) into the LAN and do any other setup on the server. 1 - Plug the USB end into the ILO USB port in the FRONT of the Server 2 - Plug a network patch cable between this adapter and your laptop's ethernet network port 3 - Set your laptop with a static IP address of 169.254.1.3 / 255.255.255.0 / 169.254.1.1 4 - Open up Chrome and go to 169.254.1.2 and you're immediately connected to the server's ILO5 web interface. Super easy, works well, built solidly (enough for this use) and inexpensive.

Great For Older PC's
I got this for a much older PC running Win ME that had no Ethernet card, and it does work. However not right out of the box, as the comp will not and can not install the correct drivers for this adapter. Also the new version of this adapter does not come with any legacy drivers at all, so to get this working with older computers you will need to get the correct drivers from a trusted driver db on the internet as they are no longer available on the Trendnet site. The driver set that worked for me is the following and may work for you. If you find you need to use this on an older computer try "TU2-ET100 v2" Drivers. To get this up and running plug in the adapter if no install screen pops up, go to control panel add new hardware, select the drivers for your os you just dl'd and follow the add new hardware wizard screens, after this your computer should re-start and the adapter should complete the install and now work. I hope this can help others that may need this to work on older legacy systems.

Pic is an of an older version - newer version's case is better designed
The photo showing this adapter is of an older version. The functional specs are the same. The new version is just as solidly constructed, and the USB cord is permanently attached now, which I consider a better design compared to the older version. The cord can't get separated from the adapter and lost - or accidentally pulled out of the adapter. The RJ-45 ethernet port is solid and seating/locking of an ethernet cable in it is positive - it's not going to fall out unless the plug on your ethernet cable is broken (and that's your own cable problem, not the adapter's port). Plugged it into the USB ports on a couple different computers. Both WinXP SP2 (32-bit) and WinXP /x64 SP2 (64-bit - aka 2003 Server /x64) recognized and loaded the drivers for it without any hassle or having to install drivers. Older versions of Windows (e.g. Win98 and possibly WinME) would require driver installation for it - these kinds of things didn't exist (nor did their chipsets) when those O/S's were created. Gave it 5 stars because this is about as easy as it gets - true Plug 'n Play in WinXP - and mechanically well constructed. You do have to configure your new ethernet port, but you'd have to do that regardless of what kind of network adapter you installed.

Works great with Google Chromecast (v2.0) out of the box
I bought this to use with a Google Chromecast (v2.0) and it works perfectly. Combined with a USB OTG Y-cable (so has power and comms) it is plug and play. I took it with me recently to a trip to the States and used it with a TPLink WR702N travel router. It meant I could stream for my G4 to the chromecast using LocalCast and YouTube. Never had any stuttering or dropped performance I use it at home with Emby Media Server to cast to a 24" HDMI monitor. It quite happily casts 1080p MKVs from my Blu-Ray rips. Very pleased!

Top!

THIS IS A SCAM.
They state it is AX88772A and compatible with Wii, however when I tried it, It did NOT WORK! And its NOT EVEN AX88772A, It's AX88772C Which the Wii doesn't support.
