Seems like we are still getting many mosquito bites with this unfortunately. We use regular OFF spray on our bodies, then use this around face, neck, ears. The combo of the two seems to work.

I hate DEET and the smell of bug spray, but I hate mosquitos more! I live in Oklahoma, and we had a lot of rain, so mosquitos have been out of control. I added about 20 drops of this blend to a small spray bottle (2 oz). Then I filled it with lavender witch hazel and a few drops of almond carrier oil. I shake before I spray, and apply liberally. I haven't had a single bite where I have applied this. I thought my pants covered my ankles and didn't spray there. I got two bites there, and nothing on my exposed arms. I have mowed the grass multiple times at dusk wearing this stuff without a single bite. I'm impressed. It smells good to me and doesn't leave me feeling like I need a shower after sitting in chemicals all day like a DEET spray. No skin irritation either even on my sensitive skin kiddo. Just don't apply it directly and you will have a great, non-toxic mosquito deterrent!

I can't say enough good things about this blend (or this company)! I made a roller bottle diluted* at 2% in FCO and we use it every time we go outside. No bug bites for anyone in our family since we started using it, which is something of a minor miracle since we live in Houston. The one morning I forgot to put it on my daughter and myself before we went outside to wave goodbye to Daddy as he left for work, two mosquitoes landed on my daughter's head in the few minutes we were out there. This stuff really works!!The dominant smell is citronella, which I don't mind, but when it's been on for a while it starts to smell like patchouli, which I really don't like. Not a big deal at all, though; at that point I either reapply the roller or wipe it off with a water wipe. :)I gave a roller bottle of diluted Shield Me to a friend because her son was constantly being eaten by bugs and the last time I saw her she told me he's had zero bites since she started using it on him. I found conflicting info about dilution elsewhere on the internet, and really think it's safest to follow PT's chart since that's the dilution they intend for the oils they produce. This is one of my favorite essential oil blends that I keep in my home at all times. With kids in the house every home should have this. For one, Plant Therapy is a trusted and honest company and that is one of the biggest things to look for in any company but especially when it comes to essential oils. You don't want to end up with fake oils that will harm you. This is a very safe company to order from. The Get Em Gone blend smells amazing with the citronella essential oil and others used and it is HIGHLY effective! I leave it in at least 15 minutes longer than the recommended time but I am sure it works just as well sticking with just the 15 minutes. I like to be on the for-sure get-it-done side. It makes the hair smooth and healthy looking and also leaves an amazing scent which lasts throughout the day. This oil kills the bugs AND eggs. I get the big bottle because during school season we go through it quick! Get yours soon so you have it when you need it.

Had hoped it would work better since my young daughters are allergic to bug bites.Pro: smelled nice, kids didn't have adverse reactions to it.Cons: was hit or miss weather it would repel mosquitoes in low population areas (childs park not very forested) despite applying to various places of exposed skin or on clothing where mosquitoes were targeting.

This works amazingly well! My son coughs and doesn't like to be sprayed with OFF! for kids. I mixed this up with witch hazel and water, and it works really well to keep the mosquitoes away .. and it smells great. He doesn't mind at all when I spray him and his clothing. We use it for ourselves, too.

Smells great and I feel good using it on my kids (and me) instead of those harsh sprays people normally buy. Need to reapply more often but I think it works pretty good against bugs in an every day environment...we aren't deep in the bush!

Smells good, I use it in body butter I make.. we shall see how it works
