Clarks Women's Ashland Rivers

I found this shoe to be true to size, I wear size 11 med. The leather needs to be worn in, as I find with all Clarks shoes, and that once they are worn in, they fit like a glove. Some other reviewers complained about the toe box, and I'm very sensitive to tight toe boxes, but this one felt ok to me. I like that the shoe is airy for the summer, but that it covers my toes. I do not like showing my toes. I have a shoe stretcher and generally always pre-stretch my shoes so that I don't have to wear in the leather with my own feet. I will stretch this shoe a bit, but it doesn't seem like it needs a lot. I was able to put them on and walk around comfortably right out of the box. Like most Clarks shoes, they are heaven to walk on. I like the color too, I really need to get away from my mostly-black palatte. :)

I normally wear a 7.5 or 8 in narrow width, and anywhere from a 7 to 8 in medium width. This is my 3rd or 4th pair of Clarks in this style, and I have purchased them in all three sizes. Surprisingly for a narrow, the 7 fits best in this shoe. I have purchased in 3 different colors as well, and was disappointed most by this light color. It looks pretty here, but it doesn't seem like the leather is the same as others and this shoe's leather has worn out faster than others. I wear shoes out quickly, due to a gait and one leg being slightly longer in length, and find that Clarks are comfortable, with good arch support and holds up great for me. As long as Clarks continues to make their shoes how they have been, they will continue to be my "go to" mfg for footwear.

U am so pleased. I have worn moccasins for years with my weekend casual, but I was ready for a little change without giving up the comfort. This is it! Comfort in a feminine style with a little lift in the heel. Could not be better. And to my surprise, the arch strap is velcro-adjustable. It's a great bonus. Now a little tip that worked for me: I have a wide foot, but have grown tired of my toes hitting the top of the shoe and my heel sometimes slipping out. Knowing Clark and their usual-excellent structure, I went up a size (to 8 1/2) and stayed with a normal wide instead of the wide. The result is magical! My toes are comfy, and the heel does not slip. I am really pleased with the result and am going back to Clark's to do the same in a dress shoe.

This pair of shoes fits me like a glove. They are from the Bendables line and so you can't beat the comfort, especially if you are on your feet a lot or have to do a lot of walking.I just prefer Clark's over most other brands because they last forever, the colors stay vibrant and in 15 years of wearing their brand I have never had a pair wear out in any way.I only gave them a 4 star on this particular pair for the color. They say Tan and they are tan, just a little lighter tan than what they appeared to be on the website. On the site they looked more Camel than tan but you get them and they are a true tan. They look awesome with jeans!!!!

I had a pair very similar to these already. They were very worn out so I decided to order another. My first pair were from JCPenney and the first few times of wearing them, the straps accross the top bone were very tight and hurt my feet. I thought I had made a mistake buying them. After the first 3-5 times of wearing them it finally stretched out and they were totally comfortable. This pair that I just received from Amazon were the same way, just not quite as tight across my top bone. I have worn them about 3 times now and they are getting better each time. I am completly happy with my purchase. Don't get discouraged if they are tight across the top at first because they do finally relax. I love my CLARKS!! Shipping and delivery were great. No complaints.

This shoe fit wonderfully when I first got it. The lining is like a nylon stocking! Perhaps this is why the shoe has just gotten bigger and bigger! When shoes were lined with leather, they stretched to settle to your foot, but now days these beautifully styled shoes seem to stretch and stretch! They deserve a better lining! I'm afraid I'm going to be walking out of them soon. Will definitely have to buy insoles to keep using them.Don't get me wrong. I love the style! I'll keep trying to make them work as long as I can!Edit: I discovered something interesting about the Clarks Ashland Rivers Shoe last night when adjusting my shoe boxes on the closet shelf. I never noticed this before! The EU size printed on the box is one size larger than my other brand shoes. So beware of choosing this shoe based on the "US sizing" number. Clearly a size larger in EU! No wonder this shoe doesn't fit after several wearings!

I ordered these shoes for a two week trip to Italy because I knew I would be walking a lot and I wanted a shoe that would go with casual dresses, shorts and pants. I wore these almost every day of the trip. I've never worn a shoe more comfortable than these. They have a light arch and I wore them at home first for a few weeks to break them in. I walked the Vatican, Colosseum, steep steps of the Amalfi Coast town Maiori, the island of Murano, San Marco Piazza and the Rialto bridge in Venice. I have put many, many miles on these shoes. They never let me down. They will certainly join me on my next vacation.

I wanted a good quality sturdy comfortable walking shoe, and everyone agrees that Clarke's are the business, so I bought these in a colour which will go with anything and everything. My only complaint is that they are very tight across the vamp, howevert the toebox is fine. Next time i will order the W fitting. It's a learning experience. I expect that with some wearing-in with thick socks they will give enough eventually. The walk experience itself, though, is fine. I like to put shoes on and immediately forget about my feet. I only buy leather for its giveability and durability. I think, overall, that I will get a lot of wear from these.
