No, we haven't noticed that as a feature. But it can be used with your iPhone to play music, and you can view a captioned video. Imagine, this would be true if using an ipad as well.

Our sing a long was a plug in not battery operated or if it has batteries we don't use them. My granddaughter plays with it.
