Reliable Workhorse for DIY Enthusiasts
I've been a home improvement enthusiast for years, and my DEWALT Drill has become an indispensable tool in my arsenal. This 8.0-Amp, 3/8-Inch corded drill is a true workhorse, offering consistent power and performance for various projects around the house. One of the standout features of this drill is its variable speed trigger, which allows for precise control over drilling and driving tasks. Whether I'm working with delicate materials or need to power through tough surfaces, the variable speed trigger ensures I can adjust the speed to suit the job at hand. The mid-handle grip design is another highlight, offering exceptional comfort during extended use. This ergonomic design reduces strain on my hands and wrists, allowing me to tackle projects for longer periods without fatigue. Durability is also a key factor for me, and the DEWALT Drill certainly delivers in this aspect. Built to withstand the rigors of regular use, it has proven to be a reliable companion through countless projects, from simple household repairs to more complex renovations. Additionally, the corded design means I never have to worry about running out of battery power mid-task, providing uninterrupted performance when I need it most. Overall, I highly recommend the DEWALT Drill to any DIY enthusiast or professional looking for a reliable, versatile, and durable tool. It's certainly made a significant difference in the efficiency and quality of my projects, earning its place as a staple in my workshop.

Great & powerful
Works just as it should...perfect as a backup for my other Dewalt drill. Fast shipper and no complaints.

Very powerful. Great balance.
I bought this drill a few years ago, replacing another corded drill (Craftsman) that had half the speed and drew one-third the amps. I immediately did the "Tim-the-Tool-Man" routine, driving a 3" stainless deck screw into treated pine in the blink of an eye, and snapping the head right off the screw in the process. Talk about more power! My old drill did well if it could bring the top of the head down flush with the top of the decking. A little practice taught me not to pull the VSR trigger in quite so far when doing things like driving screws. This thing has the strength to handle anything I've asked it to do, and a whole lot more. The drill has been great for all kinds of household tasks. The mid-handle grip really helps to control the direction. It's not as heavy as I expected, either. That little clip on top for hanging the drill onto various fixed objects hasn't proven itself particularly useful; it only slips over narrow objects, and won't hang over a 2x4, for instance. Big deal; it's still better than no hook at all, right? Also, the keyless chuck is a vast improvement over the old keyed type I was used to fiddling with. I was wondering if it would grip tightly enough, but I've experienced no problems to date. Overall, this is a great little drill. Update July 2013: I've let this thing gather some dust, having purchased an 18V Milwaukee cordless a while back. It's great too, but tonight I just thought I'd finish up the current project with the "old" DeWalt, to compare. I was drilling into brick, mortar, and concrete with the cordless, using a 1/4" carbide bit. (The purpose is to put in plastic inserts to hold brass screws, which hold brass stair nosing edges that will protect the freshly glued carpet on the back porch.) I rolled out a couple dozen feet of extension cord, but soon realized I'd have been done already if I'd started with this thing. Ka-ZOOM! Still has the power! I will keep taking the Milwaukee cordless as my usual drill, but when I have a job that requires a bit of oomph, I will probably be a bit more ready to unwind extension cord, track down the nearest live receptacle, and use the yellow thing again.

Good power and feel.
This is a good product. I like the power and feel. I looked at other 3/8 inch drills but this one looked like the best bet. I do not regret buying this drill.

High-Quality Corded Drill
High-quality drill for a great price. Glad it is corded. As a home user, battery-powered drills are never charged when you need them.

great for drilling in wood, but not easy to use driving screws
I am taking one star off because it is difficult to use for driving screws. If that is not an issue for you, then I would give it 5 stars. I am very happy with the drill. I use it for drilling 3/8" holes for doweling. It has a good bit of power, but you're not going to get the torque that a slower speed drill would get, or at least not in a very controllable way. This is because the trigger controls it from 0-2500 rpm, where as my DW235K goes from 0-850 rpm. The DW235K is much easier to drive screws with, although the amount of torque it generates could be dangerous. Other things are that it does not have the locking spindle that most battery drills have, and this makes the keyless chuck a bit harder to use, although this has not been a problem for me so far. The mid handle makes the drill much easier to hold and position, since the drill is better balanced. My overall goal with this drill was to have a powerful drill with higher RPMs for drilling wood, and I think it does that quite well.

Perfect size
This DEWALT drill is a workhorse! It's got plenty of power for most home projects, and the variable speed trigger gives you good control. I really appreciate the mid-handle grip – it's comfortable to hold and makes it easy to maneuver. It's a bit bulky, but it feels sturdy and well-made. Overall, a great value for the price.

I have the cordless drill as well though it’s not powerful enough for some jobs. This corded drill is fantastic. Lots of power/torque. Highly recommend it.

Me gustó, uno de los mejores taladros

I had previously ordered a drill (4amp rated) but found it was not powerful enough to do the work I intended so I returned and got this one with 8 amps. Found it just right - enough power without wrenching my wrists. If you have a job that needs a bit more power this is the one to get.
