The Princess Diaries 10 Books Collection Set by Meg Cabot (Books 1 - 10) (Take Two, Third Time Lucky, Give Me Five, After Eight, Ten out of Ten & MORE!)

This selection of books was the perfect Christmas gift for my 10- and 12-year-old granddaughters. They were so excited to receive it.

I bought these for my granddaughter for Christmas. They were so colorful and cute and in perfect condition.

Came on time. Good quality binding. Boxed well

We love the movie with Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews. I ordered the books for my 11 year old and she brought them back to me saying they're full of bad words and one of the back covers suggests that the princess will have to have sex to keep her boyfriend around. I'd send them back but I don't have the wrapping. I'm planning to burn them.

Meg Cabot always writes well, and these are well-written stories of an American girl who finds she's unexpectedly a royal. The first thing that threw me off was that the titles are different from what older copies in the library have. There's still lots of humor and sass and ... whoops! I didn't recall the books having all the sex talk the first time I read them, and I assumed I either forgot that or skimmed right past it. The other possibility is that these are the books published for the UK, and perhaps their system for age appropriateness is different than ours in the USA. Either way, be aware that these particular books are best suited for high school and beyond.

I bought this book series for my 10 year old daughter and she seemed to like them just fine. Later to find out at book 8-10 they discuss sex (including the actual act and anatomy) openly. I was shocked to hear this as I assumed they were as innocent as the movies. This was sadly a emotional burden on my daughter as we had not had “the talk” yet and she felt shameful for having read them. Please don’t buy this set if you are not ready to talk with your daughter about sex and the anatomy around it.

My daughter was interested in alternating her reading between her kindle and a printed book but this version of the books is not the same version as the ones on her kindle.
