A great hood for a coat without a hood

Very warm, fits coat nicely. Great product.

It does what I need it to do.

I like it a lot good addition to my what they now call retro 1990’s Duck coat , if there was anything I would say the hood is a shade darker black than my 35 yr old coat but a couple washes or a dye job will fix that so it’s not a issue for me👀’s 💚 it 🤘🏻

I was pleased with the moss green color matching my jacket. The problem I had like several others was the snaps would not stay connected. One of the other reviewers had the fix. Take a flat end punch and hammer to flatten the protruding center pieces in the snap on the hood. Put a soft towel or something under the snap so you don't mar the dark bronze finish of the snap while hammering those metal pieces down. Keep hammering till they are pretty much flat inside the snap. You will notice that the coat also has these same protruding pieces which cause both snaps from coming together in a tight fit. Yes, someone at the plant should fix this issue.

I got the Small-X-Large size, and it fits great on my 3XL jacket. Make sure that your jacket will match properly with this hood's snaps; my jacket is a Washed Duck style, but some of the other reviewers may have had a different style that caused some of their alignment issues. My snaps were all good to go and fit properly and snug. The color matches perfectly. The hood is pretty rigid; you can move your head around and it will stay in place instead of following (at least it does that while it's new).

I bought this to go with the jacket, and while it is a nice enough hood, and the snaps do match up, the hood is huge! Perhaps designed to be worn over a hard hat? By pulling the adjustment cords as much as possible it sort of fits, but it is really not at all warm because it is just so big. I bought the jacket in a size small, but the hood is one size, so no option on that. Generally Carhartt does their outer-wear really well, and I feel they offer great value for the price. Their items are durable and well made, and for me the sizing is generally really good. This hood just misses on the sizing, though it is well-made and seems durable.
