Good If You Know What You Are Buying
If you are not an experienced boot buyer, (which I am, including custom made boots), then you may be either underwhelmed or fooled by this boot. I love Timberland boots and shoes, and own and have owned many pairs. Their wide sizes actually fit my very wide feet, (and I have bunions). However this Original Earthkeeper is not a rugged boot. This is a lightweight boot made for light use. I bought them for indoor work, and for that purpose they are perfect. If you want rugged outdoor boots, look elsewhere. These are good looking and comfortable, however as most reviewers stated, they run big. That's fine for me, as I will be wearing them with thick socks. Wesco's these are not, but for a stylish boot you can wear to the office, (if you are lucky enough to work in such a place), or for casual wear around town on weekends in the fall... you can't go wrong.I marvel at people who buy the wrong boot for the wrong purpose and then bash the boot instead of educating themselves on the different types and quality levels of boots out there for purchase. Know what you are buying, know your feet, know the purpose, and buy accordingly. In all reality these are more boot looking high top shoes... but they look so good and feel like slippers, not boots... so I'm happy. Anyway, my two cents...

Poorly put together, falling apart after 2 months
Shoes look good and are comfortable, but the sole is falling off of the right heel after 2 months of daily (in an office, not a worksite) use. It looks like there was hardly any glue connecting the sole to the tread .It is a shame, the last 3 pairs of boots I have had have been Timberlands, and they were used in a much harder environment, and all lasted until the tread was gone(2-3 years)I did call the customer service, and they told me they would send me new boots, but that I get to have the pleasure of paying for the shipping. I know it will only be a few bucks, but the principal of me having to pay to correct their mistake tells me they dont want my continued long term business. I was told and I quote "that's just our policy," I also have to fill out a warranty claim online, they could not start a claim over the phone.I'll pay the $10/$15 bucks shipping to have these replaced, and I'll never buy another pair of Timberlands again.

Timberland rep. for quality not applicable here
Tried these on at a store. But no wides sold there. So ordered on line. Pretty sure they are actually timberland boots and not knock offs so imagine my dissatisfaction when I noticed a seem rip on the outside of my left boot. Keep in mind I am especially upset as I have had these for about one week and have only worn them for a few days!!!.On further inspection I found other defects that would have me throwing these out after owning only a few months. The sole on right boot and end points of tongue stitching of left boot are already coming unglued! Additionally the stitching on the big toe knuckle on the right boot is also beginning to frey. I've bought cheap Walmart boots that held up better.I also knew they weren't waterproof buuuut they soak in the slightest bit of moisture! These boots give "moisture wicking" a whole new meaning! These boots are also drafty.I was not expecting insulated boots but I've never had my toes go so cold so quickly... especially on the right! Where incidentally the toe has already caved in and seems like a different material in this spot on the right boot than the left boot... odd huh?I am taking these to Kohl's today. Dropping off the shoes there was a return option. So that is one extra star in their favor! It is a convenient option for me.I hope I didnt throw out the box! I think I did cause I was like "these are Timberlands! I'll never need this box cause these boots will last for years!" Hah... boy was I wrong!

Amazing boots!
I really loved the style of the boots, I went with the dark brown and didn’t like the color of them. I returned them and went with the regular burnished brown and was pretty happy with the color. The dark brown boot is very dark, somewhat darker from the photos that are posted.Sizing:I would say you should buy a FULL size down from your normal shoe/sneaker size. I wear a 9 in Vans/Adidas sneakers and went with a 8 in the Burnished Brown and they fit great!A shoelace did get messed up when trying to feed them through the loops but it’s not really a big problem. I really did not like the insole so I replaced them with some Dr.Scholl’s and they feel even better.I really like them because you can put your pants in them for a nice style or put them over and use them like a dress shoe.

SUPER COMFORTABLE BUT ( *INFERIOR* )SOLES & OR GLUE USED. THE SOLES COME APART AFTER A WHILE .
THIS IS MY 2ND PAIR OF THESE BOOTS WHICH ARE VERY STYLISH & COMFORTABLE BUT AFTER A WHILE OF WEAR, THE SOLES BEGIN TO COME APART FROM THE SHOE . ALSO THE STICHING ON THE TONGUE OF THE BOOT CAME APART. GREAT LOOKING BOOT BUT DISSAPOINTING QUALITY.

As others have stated- is actually, 1.5 sizes too large
That it's 1.5 sizes to large should knock a star, but the boots, once ordered in the correct size are comfortable and very good looking. If you like the oiled leather look, these boots are tough to beat. I'm between an office and a shop all day, and these boots dress up or down, which is perfect. If you're looking for a serious heavy duty dedicated, work boot, you're probably better off with Wolverines or comparable. I'll probably add some better insoles, these have no arch support. They're perfectly comfortable without, but with my flat feet, I'll need some arch support if I'm on my feet for more than a few hours. Not cheap boots, but a value for what they are. If the aesthetic is important to your decision for a quality boot, these will not disappoint. Will update if quality suffers over time.

Awful
Boots not lasted 3 months. Soles coming away from the boot. Second pair I've had, last was a Chukka boot. Total of £240 on both boots. Have wrote to Timberland and received this -Hello Michael,Thanks for contacting Timberland Online Customer Care. Hope this finds you well and safe !Since the shoes are not bought from us and are not under warranty. What I can recommend you is to check with Timpsons.co.uk as they are doing very good repairs.Apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused to you. Please get back to me if you have any further questions - I’d be happy to help.Best wishes,MiraTimberland Customer Care Team--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------So they are a sub standard boot, under no warranty, Timberland take no responsibility at all. Take your money elsewhere. I work as a Caretaker so not on a building site. Just rubbish boots I'm afraid.

Classy boots.....for city dudes
The Timberland Men's Earthkeepers Original 6" Medium Brown Lace Up Boot... are very classy. I had fallen for them the first time I saw but was waiting for a good deal to come and got it on Amazon. The boots look very cool. While boots are normally designed for hard and tough use and hence have fatter soules, but these ones are for fashion I believe, but not for farm or and hard labour, but that does not mean they are not sturdy, they are sturdy and classy. Comfortable to walk good grip, though they squeak on certain surfaces. Theey are slim and not fat at toe unlike the CATerpillar boots or Dr. Martens, i love them for that classy design. While ordering order half a size less, the supplier have some confusion in UK and US size. I wanted 8 UK siuze but they are 1/2 size bigger. The boots are made in india and have finesse. The laces though are smaller at leas I feel as while wearing and removing you need to open them up a bit and the laces falll short and come out of the first couple of eyelets. The boot are decently high and look very cool.

Definitely in the 'last pair of boots you'll ever need' category!
These boots are quite simply fantastic. Everything about them is spot on (except for one thing- see later).Leather - beautifully cut and stitched and really great quality with a nice waxy finish. Will wear very well I think.Laces and eyes - hold a knot very well (I tend to use a reef knot) with a smooth pull through the eyesFit - definitely go 1/2 - 1 size smaller than you'd normally take. By way of a benchmark, I'm a Clark's 8.5 and the size 8 Timberlands fit me like a glove.Comfort - some of the best shoes I've ever worn. Easy to wear looser for casual wear or laced more firmly for more ankle / foot support when you're out and about. Either way, very comfy.Sole / grip - the sole is quite (slightly too?) soft and provides excellent cushioning but represents the one weak area for this boot- grip on smooth, wet surfaces is not great. It's possible this will improve with time but I suspect not.Overall, buy with confidence- you're unlikely to be disappointed.

I love, love
I love, love, love my Timberlands and I'm now and I had three pairs of this particular model; each pair lasting approximately 18mths. My only minor niggle would be that the sole doe's tend to wear a little quicker than I would have imagined for a boot so rugged. That aside they are extremely comfortable and supportive; look good and of great quality - even my older boots are still wearable with no visible wear to the boot itself and I use these for DIY jobs around the house where I know they are going to get mucky.. keeping my new ones for best. When my current ones need replacing I'll be purchasing exactly the same ones again.

As expected for the price and brand - comfortable, warm and dry
I bought these as a more heavy duty leather winter boot that i could wear out on the town and to work as opposed to my fashion boots or hiking boots. Looks wise, they look great and are very well made, - as you'd expect from Timberland. Size wise, they are a little roomier than previous brands ive worn, im typically a comfortable 12 fit with boots and these are a little looser. In terms of warmth, dont expect toasty warm feet as you might get with Goretex hiking boots, but stick an extra pair of socks on and these boots are pretty warm. The thick sole shields your foot from the cold ground transference too.You do get a fair amount of grip in wet and snowy conditions, and the sole stands up well to the elements, but beware, because they are essentially soft gum, they are pretty slippery when it comes to ice! You can always get yourselves some of those snap on ice shoes if you're worried about itIve noticed other reviewers talking about the life of the sole - i cant comment on this too much as ive only had them for a couple of weeks (still, ive worn them every day!) but it seems to be fine for now. Re-soling is fairly cheap though and once these gum soles finally give out i'll be replacing them with a harder thermal compound sole so they are less slippery on ice.I also bought the timberland waximum protector for these and applied it straight away to protect against discolouration from water and salt, and id recommend you do the same - you might notice a darkening of the leather at first but as the leather absorbs the wax it'll return to the normal colour.Overall, a sturdy, well made boot with some heavy duty and premium leather - comfortable, warm and dry.
