It's so beautiful! 😭
Arrived in a cardboard box. Wish it was a nicer box that you could reuse more easily; this box you have to slide the papers in and out of. One that had a lid might be better suited to not bending the papers. Some of mine are slightly bent on the edges, as pictured. Paper is beautiful and matte and colors are all in order. I don't want to ever take them out of order! 😂 This will be the perfect accompaniment to Josef Albers book and app, Interaction of Color, which we're studying in my Topics of Color class. Excited to get started!

MAKE YOUR OWN STATUETTES (Review #24)
(This is twenty-three in a series of reviews describing products used for the making of PHOTO STATUETTES. All 28 reviews are yours by clicking "Ron Z" and scrolling down or by clicking the x in Ron's x-tab (above). The series begins Nov 18, 2013 with Elmer's Foam Boards, 20 x 30 Inches, 1/2-Inch Thick, Black/Black, 10-Count (951300)).We have disengaged our acrylic nameplate. Now it's time to add a background color to its groove. Choice of color takes center stage here and the dominant color usually wins out.Your subject--or subject's PHOTO--has a dominant color. Her PINK blouse, his BLUE eyes, a child clutching a YELLOW elephant.... It might just be BLACK. Or WHITE. Or GREY. Whatever the color, match it using Color-aid. Match it precisely. You can DO that with Color-aid.The Color-aid system consists of 314 papers in a variety of pastels and lighter tints. It is commonly used in art and design schools as well as for arts and crafts applications. I know of no substitute for this product. The first thing you'll need is a FULL SET of swatches. This 4.5 x 6-inch set (featured) is fine and dandy, but "smaller for less" would serve just as well. See Amazon's "Sponsored Links" for smaller Full Set Swatches.Swatches are used to identify colors, necessary when ordering Color-aid papers. Each color bears a separate I.D.Our project requires 9 x 12-inch sheets. We can order a full set of 9 x 12's or purchase as needed and gradually build up. Singles are sold in size 18 x 24 (available direct from the Color-aid Corporation). Each can be cut into four 9 x 12's.Then, using a 9 x 12-inch sheet, cut a strip of Color-aid to fit the nameplate's dado groove. Always cut along the 12-inch side and then cut the color strip to proper length. Position it against the back of the groove, color facing you. No need for gluing. Excellent value for a full set of smaller sheets
I'm an art student and we need small amounts of this paper for various projects. I love the vibrant colours in just about every shade you can think of. What I like best is the cost of this size because the larger sized sheets of a full set is about $100. I highly recommend this product.

I wish this was cheaper but that’s the same everywhere you go. It’s so much easier to cut this stuff than paint chips for my art projects and I’ve yet to come across anything similar.

Pure Color
This is a 6 x 9 packet and not the 4X6 you got in art school. A bit more than I needed but it was my fault to think they only came in one size.

Why do they smell like that?
These smell awful. I had to get them for a class and they so weird. I have to keep the box shut and rush to find the color I need. Variety of colors. Overpriced though.

Well I said I loved it, not that I understood it!
I think it will take a long while playing with the swatches before coming to even a partial understanding of the system.Full mastery could take years, but would be worth it for learning to mix all the colors of the rainbow from the three primaries.I was trying to shortcut making color charts from the colors I bought, that is not going to work, but the results even just using the earth tones have been well worth the effort .
