Very Best of

Excellent music CD with a great variety of themes in their songs. Makes me proud of my Scottish bloodline.

I'm taking the time to write a review as the others here don't do this collection justice. The Proclaimers are aptly named, as everything they sing is sung with conviction, pride, and volume. Songs like "Sunshine on Leith" and "Cap in Hand" make this patriotic Yank wish she were a Scot. "I'm On My Way," "Life with You" and "Let's Get Married" are joyous declarations of love that never fail to put a smile on my 'coupon,' and the humor and adept wordplay in "What Makes You Cry" and "Spinning Around in the Air" have warranted countless listens and car commute singalongs. I'm still getting to know many of the songs, but I like them all, and I suspect many of them will eventually become new favorites as I glut myself on current favorites. I love these guys - their music makes me feel like I'm sitting on top of the world.

I had no idea the Proclaimers had such a great inventory of music. Nearly everyone of the copious number of tunes is top notch. Everything from something to stir the soul, to protest, to make you laugh out-loud. Excellent album

just recently learned of this group, and am enjoying the CDs. Imagine my surprise when their "I want to be"(500 miles) was the background music for the Bud commercial during Superbowl .......also heard it on a VW commercial..... Way to go guys!!

Ordered this to listen to a Scottish band. Knew they performed 500 Miles, but did not know any of their other songs. Many of these songs are a great listen, including a song in memory of a father, several really appropriate wedding songs (Sunshine on Leith is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard!) and others. These guys are truly diverse and know how to change it up!

Took a while to arrive, but that’s not a reflection of the product itself. It was in perfect condition and the songs are wonderful.

I love most of the songs on this. There is a wide variety so a little something for everyone for this low price. I did my research before I bought this CD to make sure it was a better option than just buying the single. It definitely worth the money.

I discovered these brothers a few years ago, and I thought I was the only one on the planet who knew about them. Now their music is featured in the hit film, "Pitch Perfect" as well as being heard on several radio stations. I like them, but they may be an acquired taste. I hope they break out in this country the way they did in their own.

I knew two songs before I bought this album. 500 Miles and Letter from America. In their day, I saw them as two Scottish blokes singing in a Scottish accent rather unusual songs. Their celebrity faded and as far as I was concerned, I forgot about them. I was inspired to buy this album as I watched a documentary on the brothers Craig and Charlie fronted by David Tennant who championed them and got me intrigued. I bought this over ten years after it's release and wondered how I missed all this.Throw the R Away, I'm on My Way, Act of Remembrance, Scotland's Story and many others took my breath away in their depth of lyrics and tunesmith style. My favourites are In Recognition, Hate My Love and the utterly superb emotions of what is probably the most beautiful song ever written, Sunshine On Leith. The Proclaimers' singing style can jar a little on my English ears, but this disappears completely as I am transfixed by the sheer musicality of their songs. I will now have to start trolling through 25 years years worth of a back catalogue to see what else I've missed.I'm rather looking forward to that.

An excellent compilation of their music. Everything is very well produced and the songs are absolutely fabulous. This was a superb nostalgic trip to the past. Thank you.

Bellissimo

This is a lively, fun CD chock full of cool lyrics that'll put a smile on your face. Bought it for "500 Miles" but there are more songs that are worth buying this CD for.
