Router Bit Set-Up Jigs (for 45° Lock Miter Router Bit, 1/2” & 3/4” Cutting Height)

I have another one of these for 5/8 & 3/4. I'm doing a project using half inch material I am NOT a professional carpenter or cabinet maker but I am quite anal about everything I build. Making 90 degree corners that are strong and look good is an art. These router bits really help but setting them up can be frustrating. These setup tools take some of the frustrared "throwing stuff " out of the project!

In my country the pine wood are 18mm and not 3/4" so that it is not very accurate however, a good start.

I had 24 storage boxes to build. I chose the lock miter joint as I would not need a truck full of clamps to hold the boxes together until the glue dried, I would have needed a thousand pocket hole screws, to build them that way. A couple of staples to tack the assembled, glued joint held until the glue joint dried. Setting up for the lock miter joint can take a good amount of time. This block will hand you the set up for 1/2” and 3/4” ply. Worked great.

Doesn't match its equivalent lock miter bit.

Bought this product hoping it would make setting up my router faster. I've been a finish carpenter for 25 years. If you use this guage pieces won't lock together perfectly, not even close. The best way is to mark your center line of your material and line it up with the center line of the cutter head. This product is a great idea if it was accurately made.

After reading the reviews that it doesn't work with this bit or that bit, I was sceptical about buying this jig. I bought a cheap bit and was worried it wouldn't work with that bit, but after some thought, I bought the jig, does it fit 100% with the cheap bit, no, but was close enough that I didn't have to modify the router up/down, it worked first time, and if anyone has ever set up a lock mitre router bit, it can be pretty tricky getting the right height, but this worked first try... Very impressed..

This set up jig is great for setting up the locking 45 router bits. Sturdy and well made. I highly recommend this jig for set up. I will buy others form this company absolutely.
