Wooden Stamp Activity Set: Horse Stable - 10 Stamps, 5 Colored Pencils, 2-Color Stamp Pad

This is our second Melissa And Doug stamp set purchase! The stamps are easy for little hands to manage and the stamp pads last a very long time! A very fun and interactive activity for my 1, 3 and 6 year old. Highly recommend!

My daughter is an avid horse fan. Anything and everything horses she loves. Additionally, she loves to do arts and crafts, thus, when I saw this product I knew it would be a perfect Christmas gift for her. This was the first thing she grabbed to play with after opening her Christmas presents. This was her first stamp kit and she immediately got into making pictures, drawing barns and stamping horses on the paper to create particular scenes. We have plans to make some cards and use this set so she can personalize her cards to family/friends. The durability of this product seems well built. I really like the wooden box that it comes in. I do wish it had a top for the box, something to at least close in all the pieces when they are put away. The coloring pencils that came with the kit are your basic coloring pencils. My daughter has quite a large collection and I specifically purchased this kit for the horse stamps, so this was only a side item in my purchase. The stamp pad that came with the kit are slightly smaller than I had expected. Though, for her first stamp kit they fit the bill and this is always something that we can purchase in the future when it is needed. Overall, I recommend this product for any individual that is a horse fan and enjoys arts and crafts activities.

The kit itself was fine and the stamps are quality made. However the stamp ink pad was dried up on one side and the other side barely transferred ink. My granddaughters were very disappointed. UPDATE: I changed my review from 1 star to 5 because after contacting the Melissa and Doug company they are sending me a bigger replacement stamp pad at no charge. I appreciate their response to my problem. Great company to work with!!!

My daughter loved it, only thing is the ink pads don't last long/work well. Have to press pretty hard to get the ink to show up on paper

Our family got this set of stamps for a girl who of course is a horse lover. She was having spinal surgery with a long recovery in the hospital. She has some gross motor control issues so your typical coloring books and drawing pencils would not be practical for her. These stamps did the trick. They are easy to hold and use. Her mom reported that it really perked her up with her hospital stay. We were given a wondderful thank you card with pretty ponies all over it. If you have a child that is a horse lover or a shild that is needing a different medium to use for arts and crafts this is a good start. Those with tactile sensitivites will like this because the ink in in pads so all they are having to touch it the smooth wood block. Our family is always on the look out for different and creative ways to express ourselves. I am so glad we got this to help someone else express themselves.

Purchased this and a few other horse items, like a Horses Coloring Book by Sheri Maxwell... and my niece LOVED both presents. She is a young horseback rider and loves all things horses, so she was thrilled to receive both. Would buy it again!

My 11, 8, 5 and 3 year old children loved playing with this stamp set and it kept them busy for quite a long time. They used the stamps on blank white paper and then colored the stamped pictures with colored pencils and then drew scenery and a background. Buying this set here on Amazon was cheaper than buying at my local AC Moore or other craft store when I checked. This was a good buy!

Bought as xmas stocking gift. Good quality stamps and inks and comes in nice presentation box. Ideal for pony mad girls age 4-8.
