Olympic Rubber Grip Weight Plates, 2-Inch Barbell Set

I use a mix of rubber-covered or rubber-edged weight plates and plain inexpensive iron ones. Where the weight bars come in contact with the ground, I want rubber coming in contact with the ground, otherwise I load my bars plain iron plates. I like my rubber weights to have nice grab handles for easy handling. I guess sometimes I get too cheap, because the price I paid per pound for these felt a bit high to me, even with a 10% temporary discount. Still when I compared prices, they really were reasonably priced after discount, and I couldn't get rubber covered ten pounders at any store near me. I like these rubber plates a lot, and, because I very much suspect my doubts about their price are most likely misplaced, I'm going to give them the full 5 stars. P.S. First I ordered something like 4 or 5 pairs of 10 lb. plates to complement the ones I already had. I already have a bunch of rubber 25 pounders and thought maybe I'd order a couple more of those, but then I discovered the 15 pounders. I never even knew that 15 pound Olympic weight plates existed, not to mention, rubber-covered ones at that. Fifteen pounds was exactly what the doctor ordered. Specifically, the doctor felt that I needed 6 pairs (i.e., 12 plates), so I filled the prescription and already feel much better. Fifteen pounders perfectly fill the gap I didn't know I had in my set of weight plates. These things are super not only conventionally on barbells and dumbbells, but they're also totally terrific for exercises I do gripping nothing more than a bare plate in each hand (handily, the handles happen to be a handy highlight happily--for ever after?).

These weight plates were the final piece I needed to complete my home gym, and I’ve been very impressed with them. The quality is excellent—they feel solid, durable, and fit my Olympic barbell perfectly. The finish has held up well through regular workouts, and they have a clean, professional look. If you’re looking for dependable plates that are built to last, I would definitely recommend these.

If you know how expensive high quality, low weight change plates are, you'll appreciate how much of a bargain these are. I really wasn't interested in spending $75-$200 for 15 pounds of weights. I bought 2 of the 5lb plates, and 2 of the 2.5lb for my home gym, and the weights are very accurate. That's all I really need, and am very satisfied. I could have gotten these weights even cheaper without rubber coating, but live in an apartment building and prefer rubber plates for avoiding noise. Plus, the rubber coating on these plates seems extremely durable. Bonus: after giving them a quick wipe down with a general household cleaner, there was virtually no odor. If you've ordered any affordable rubber weight equipment, you'll know that odor can often be an issue. But not with these plates. I would definitely buy more of these if I need any miscellaneous plates.

I really like these weight plates I finally built up to the entire set with pairs of 2.5 lbs to 45 lbs, the hole is perfect fit for the Olympic size bars with smooth slide on and off, true to weight as well, durability Is as you would expect of a rubber plated plate. It does come with a bit of packaging grease on it but it’s nothing a microfiber towel and rubbing alcohol can’t fix, it is however pretty pricey, I’d say top end price range for my budget in my opinion. Otherwise great product

Well made , handles are a must. The rubber coating a huge plus for me. Fits my Olympic bars perfectly. The weights are also correct. So it’s a solid buy for any home gym.

Love these. Wish all my weight plates were like this. Slide on and off super easily and easy to grab.

I initially wrote this review for the two 35-lb weight plates but AMZ redirected me back to this review for my review of the 85-lb weight plate set calling the set a "variant" of my initial review. The 35-lb set was purchased separately from the 85-lb set but in the same order. After further research, RitFit isn't the only seller of this style weight plate and I'd order from the seller with the best price assuming delivery will be just a quick. INITIAL REVIEW: Super fast delivery! Arrived 3-days after ordering. I ordered the pair of 35-lb weight plates for my home gym. I chose this style of weight plate for the multiple handles (so I can easily do other exercises) and RitFit's quality. I was surprised by the amount of oil on the weight plates. A card in the box explains the reason for the oil and how to remove it. Using alcohol didn't remove enough oil for me (weight plates were still a little slippery) so I wiped each weight plate down with sudsy Dawn dish detergent. The weight plates were no longer slippery and were slightly tacky to the grip after drying which is what I want. One weight plate is 35-lbs the other is 35.4-lbs (35-lbs, 6.4-oz). I weighed each weight plate multiple times to ensure the scale was correct. I shouldn't have to hope that this difference doesn't have an impact when I use them on a barbell. I have more weight plates coming and also shouldn't have to hope there aren't more weight differences. Lastly, I like the way these weight plates look and feel in my hands. The grips are made for large hands. 85-LB SET REVIEW: Weight plate set was delayed a day due to a snow storm. Similar to the 35-lb weight plates there are slight variations in the weights compared to the weight marked on each plate. I'm going to accept that a few ounces won't be an issue for my personal fitness goals. Each weight plate also needed the oil removed with a sudsy wash with Dawn dish detergent. Ironically, I saw a YouTube review that mentioned the excessive oil. 45-lb WEIGHT PLATES REVIEW: I also ordered the 45-lb weight plates with the 35-lb weight plates and the 85-lb set. Similar to the other weight plates the weight is off. One with plate is 45.3-lbs and the other is 45.8-lbs (almost 13 ounces more!). The combined weight for two weight plates marked as 45-lbs is 91.1-lbs. These weight plates had a warning sticker on the plastic bag rather than a card in the box. The warning sticker made me think about the rubber potentially oxidizing (getting gummy and sticky). I'll keep an eye out for rubber oxidation because it's easily removed with rubbing alcohol and a gentle scrub pad.

Seem good to me. If laid on their side and stacked they don’t lay/stack well that way (no flat flush side/edges like a steel plate for plate on plate friction), but maybe the case for most weights this style? Not like I need to do that… They glide on and off my barbell easy, then again I have a smooth barrel barbell, so in my case I always use collars cuz I don’t want weights sliding off.

No where is it advertized that they'd arrive coated in a nasty white grease. Took me 30 mins to clean them off with soap and water.

A few months in, and despite washing them, the smell remains.
