Discharges to 1/2 capacity and stops
I'm trying to take better care of my LiPo battery packs for my R/C airplanes, and my current chargers don't have a discharge capability. These do the job, discharge to 1/2 capacity (typically 58%) and stop. My new packs haven't puffed and are holding up well so far this summer. I have had some issues where I plug them in to a fully charged pack, and the LEDs go out after several minutes, when I know the pack has not been full discharged. Unplugging them, waiting for a few seconds, and plugging them back does the trick. I've left them on for a few days after the LEDs have gone out and the pack reads 58% the next time I go to charge it. I've used these on 2S, 3S, and 4S packs and they always get the cell count right. I used them to condition a new packs, charging it, and discharging it several times before putting it in service.

Safe, Small, Smart, Slooooooowwww.
Yep. The StoreSafe is safe, and very clever, but too slow. I figured I'd risk it and buy it to at least give it a test. I am really impressed with everything, except the fact that this is not a practical way to discharge my fully charged 4S FPV Drone batteries. To bring a 1300mah 4S1P down to 3.8V per cell, it would take 8 hours or more. The good news are that the heatsink does not get hot enough that it could burn something that it is touching (wood/plastic/cloth); and it is smart enough to know what size battery it is discharging and when to stop discharging. The logic programmed into the little board is excellent, the LED indicators are very bright, and the whole thing is strong and looks like it could take a beating. It is extremely compact so it's easy to leave it attached to a Lipo while in a lipo bag, etc. I will probably use these little gadgets to further discharge packs that are close to 3.8V per cell only as I do not want to wait half a day to discharge my full packs. For that I have a proper charging/discharging setup. One last thing to note: a StoreSafe does NOT balance the cells in your Lipo. In my tests with healthy lipos, it was very good at keeping cell voltages even all the way down to Storage Voltage. Your results will depend on the individual health of each cell and how far apart their voltage is when you connect the StoreSafe device. Overall it is a great value and a clever execution for somebody that understands its limitation (speed).

Good Product
I have had these for about a year now and used them several times to safely drain my LIPO's down to storage voltage. No issues.

They trun off after a couple minutes. Total junk
Both of them correctly sense my 4s batteries, then you can feel they are working because the heatsink warms up, but they turn off, and become cool within just a couple minutes and do not start again unless you unplug them for a few seconds and try again. Did this 3 times with a 650mah 4s lipo that had 100% charge. After the third attempt in 20 minutes, the battery had 98% charge. Both units do the exact same thing. I emailed vifly within an hour of receiving these and have yet tohear back, that was 2 days ago. Guess it's refund time.

Easy, Simple, Safe.
I originally bought two of these Smart Lipo Discharger plugs in July 2021 and again on the same month a year later; only that time I bought four more. I was extremely impressed with how Easy and Simple it was to plug these onto my Lipo's and move on to other priorities that required my attention. On 3s they become warm but you're still able to handle them, but 4s is almost too hot to touch! Either way, you really want to use these smart discharge plugs over a fan that's constantly blowing at a low setting; the airflow helps dissipate the excess heat build up these little devices create to slowly drain a lipo's voltage down to ~3.8 volts per cell and it automatically shuts off once it reaches that voltage point even if you forget to unplug it.This leaves a lipo at a good 55% Voltage for long term storage, you could discharge a lipo further down to 30% (~3.77v) but don't discharge a lipo past 15% (~3.71v) otherwise you'll destroy a cell or two and no amount of trickle-charging can recover the capacity once it's damaged; it only gets worse and it'll start to puff!Puffy batteries are on a random countdown and can erupt into flame spitting toxic torches! It's safer to buy a "Lipo Killer Plug", than to burn, puncture them, shoot them with a firearm, or bathe it in a salt-water solution. NEVER throw Lipo's in the trash, you can be the cause of a fire that can hurt people or damage property if the leads or balance plugs come in contact with any kind of metal.Be responsible, Do your own research, and Gain wisdom from others who've dealt with these power sources.

Works great
They work great! Keep in mind they discharge at 1 amp max. I discharged 2, 4cell 4000 mah batteries simultaneously. They finished within 30 minutes of each other. Total time from full to storage took apx. 39 hours each.
