why does this cost $30? sure it looks convenience, but seems like price gouging. It's a piece of metal

This is a very convenient tray to keep your cables organized. 100% worth the price.

Can this be used on FlexiSpot glass top desk? Want to confirm it will not damage glass top

It must be screwed to the desktop. If it is glass - you won't be able to do it.

What is the height? 2.8 inches per the product info or 3.5 per the picture?

2.8 without the brackets and 3.5 with the brackets

What size power cord should I get? One review said that "The tray installs too close to bottom of desk so power strip cords don't fit."

You can make it work with a power strip. It’s a tight fit but I was able to do it with my desk. I would get a smaller power strip to be safe.
