Reusable Produce Bags | Sturdy Mesh Grocery Tote (10 Bag Set)

I love these produce bags. We use them every time we grocery shop. Worth every penny. Easy to wash. Great size. Beautiful colors. Haven’t had any rip or tear. I fill mine with heavy sweet potatoes, apples, oranges, cabbage, ... They can handle the weight. I gifted them at Christmas.

I use these at the grocery store to buy produce. It is much easier to open than those thin bags at the grocery store. The only downside I have found is it is sometimes difficult for the checker to see the numbers on the produce when checking out. I leave the bag half cinched so they can look at it quicker.

These bags are great. You can take with you to the store to put your produce in, and/or use them in your fridge in the veg or fruit drawer. They are machine washable. Big point here - REUSABLE! They have bead/drawstring closures. Set of 5. The mesh is soft - not too stiff. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. For some reason our shopper ranks are no longer visible - so, to give you a little more info about me, I am a top 50 reviewer (#30 the highest rank achieved). Those numbers used to fluctuate over time - up and down but I noticed that they stopped updating regularly - perhaps to phase them out. It's a shame because it did help you see who has been around the longest and who is a trustworthy reviewer. I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - over 6,000 reviews posted, those reviews have been viewed well over 50,000 times, including over 24,000 likes. Bottom line, I pay for all my stuff, just like you do.

I've only used these bags a couple of times so far, but I have been impressed by their durability and strength - I put several large mangoes into one and the bag was able to carry the weight just fine, which I wouldn't have been able to do with a regular plastic produce bag. The straps are also really helpful in being able to carry the bags better. I don't believe they are sheer enough for a clerk to scan an item through the bag itself due to the net, but I don't think this would be a major issue since the clerk could just open the bag and scan something directly. In my case, I've been using these at farmer's markets and they've been great. Also, the tare weight (the weight of the bag) is on a tag that's attached to the bag, which is very helpful as well. I highly recommend these as a substitute for regular plastic produce bags! Will update this review after I attempt to wash them.

The checkers at the grocery store complained that the mesh interfered with barcode digital recognition. It was the same each time I went to the grocery store. So, I then purchased a reusable produce bag with finer mesh, and while it was easier to see-through, I still received complaints at the grocery store. Bottom line...TOO BAD! I refuse to use grocery store plastic bags and so they'll have to open my reusable and get the bar code manually. Besides, everything is going "self-help". I highly recommend any reusable you decide to purchase and do your part to reduce single-use plastic. Ocean life will thank you.
