Eduscho Gala Nr. 1 Ground Coffee 17.6oz/500g

I had given up waiting for this to be exported for use in the USA and had even stopped looking for it to be BUT here it is folks...on everyone's favorite site...Amazon! It is a 17 oz - 500 Gram package of liquid gold but the package was so hard, I thought surely there must be something wrong with it! When I opened it yesterday I almost fainted from the gorgeous aroma of this coffee. The "Brick" was that hard because there isn't a whiff of air in the package! As soon as you release it from it's packaging it is it's usual soft and finely ground Arabica. I went to the bakery just to have something special with my first cup and I was not disappointed. It is as I remembered it to be...just a very excellent cup of coffee and all I've ever asked for anywhere I've ever gone in the world but rarely received! Danke Schoen Eduscho und Amazon!

If you're considering for the first time to buy this coffee, then you've probably already enjoyed a fantastic cup of Eduscho coffee in Austria, Germany, or some other place in Europe, and may be wondering if the coffee being sold here offers the same quality as the one you had in better times. I am writing to tell you that this is the very same "Gala Nr. 1" that you've relished in that coffee shop in Vienna, or Munich, or elsewhere. The packaging's language is German; the coffee is vacuum-sealed. Furthermore, the seller took pains to seal each "brick" in its own hermetically sealed bag. Thus, I expect the shelf life of this coffee to be measureable in -years-.I'd like to add that the seller shipped immediately and quickly, even with the pandemic restrictions in place, which more than I can say about another Amazon seller from whom I recently tried to order this very same coffee (it's now nearly two months after this other seller supposedly shipped after taking my money, but my order is still nowhere to be seen).

Best coffee ever. I enjoyed it immensely whenever I visited my in-laws in Austria, and really missed it on returning home to the US. I am happy to find it finally available in the US. Better than any other European coffee. Originally a boutique coffee available only by subscription, but widely popular in Austria and Germany. Google "Eduscho" for the full story. Tschibo now owns the brand but preserved the taste. "Gala" in the red package has the strongest taste. There are also milder versions. Good in my coffee maker, but also good by the cup using a drip press (I use the kind of press for making Vietnamese cafe sua da). Try it if you enjoy really good coffee. Now, if we could just get access to Hofbauer "Fuer Verwoehnte" chocolates on Amazon!

Nice fast delivery as always. Good tasting coffee.. however it is stronger than expected. after couple of cups, the acidy feeling comes in... I will go back to Tchibo blue package. It was milder, good for morning coffee - for me.

ahh reminds me of Germany. This is the smoother milder evening coffee, it is good but not super bold. I really was missing my German memories and coffee with Opa and my relatives. So I found this on Amazon and I was so happy. This is a smooth coffee seems low in acidity. It doesn't bother my stomach and it is light enough to have it at night. Great choice, there is another one that start with a D can't remember the full name but it is also delicious.

I literally grew up with coffee plantations in my family and started drinking coffee at the age of 6. So it has been a while that I am a coffee drinker. I buy coffee from several countries and I must say that this is one of the absolutely best coffees I have ever tasted in my life. A friend brought me a packet from Germany and I simply loved it from the first sip. Its aroma will captivate you and it's well balanced flavorful taste will take you to another planet. I guarantee you, you will intensely enjoy a cup of this glorious and magnificent coffee.

Good coffee. Not great coffee. It is low in acid which is good but I won't purchase again. Prefer Gevalia, Illy and Intelligencia coffees.

I can't believe it took me so long to find this right here on amazon!I do this: I have a single serve Keurig 2.0. I purchased a reusable pod here on amazon that I fill with this or "Krönung" and then grew on "strong" and for 10oz. The strong setting slows the brewing process. 10 oz makes the strengh just right. For the european style koffee drinker this makes the perfect coffee there is. Fresh every cup! The Eduscho beats anything from Starbucks and many others not to mention standard Americoffee and does not have the burned taste but a nce strong mellow flavor. I have this set to subscription!
