SureFlap DualScan Katzenklappe, weiss 1 Stück (1er Pack)

Da wir in unserer alten Wohnung eine fremde Katze zu Besuch hatten, haben wir uns für die SureFlap Variante mit Mikrochip Funktion entschieden. Wir haben die Klappe jetzt knapp 2 Monate in Betrieb und wollten nun mal ein Feedback veröffentlichen: Der Versand war gewohnt schnell und das Päckchen kam ordentlich verpackt an, nach dem auspacken machten wir uns an den Einbau. Die Klappe sollte in eine normale Zwischentür im Kellergeschoss kommen wo zum Glück bereits eine Öffnung durch die Katzenklappe des Vormieters vorhanden war ( das aussägen des Loch's gespart :))) ). Die Bedienungsanleitung ist meiner Meinung nach, was den Einbau angeht, sehr dürftig und man muss von sehr unscharfen Bildern ablesen welches der nächste Schritt ist. Wir dachten wir hätten die Klappe dann richtig montiert, wurden aber eines besseren belehrt als unser einer Kater die Klappe nach ein paar Tagen während des durchsteigens aus der Tür gewuppt hat und die eine Hälfte rausfiel :)) Wir dachten da stimmt doch was nicht bis wir festgestellt haben das wir die größeren Schrauben, die in der Verpackung mitgeliefert worden waren, nehmen mussten. Denn diese befestigen die beiden Klappenhälften miteinander in dem die 2 Schrauben von der einen Seite durch die Tür in eine kleine Öffnung der zweiten Klappenhälfte verschraubt werden, was sich als etwas anstrengend herausgestellt hat. Am Ende haben wir es doch hinbekommen und seitdem sitzt die Klappe perfekt und nichts wackelt oder verrutscht. Wer die Befürchtung hat das seine Katze nicht durchpasst, was die Größe der Klappe angeht können wir sagen das unser einer Kater mit seinen 6,8 kg und einer respekteinflössenden Größe durchkommt. Die Chip Erfassung funktioniert einwandfrei durch langes drücken eines Knopf an der Oberseite der Klappe und dann durch das "ranhalten des Katers" an die Klappenöffnung ( natürlich sollte das vor dem Einbau gemacht werden ). Wir haben dann zuerst mit Leckerlis die Katzen an die neue Klappe gewöhnt und das durchsteigen geübt, denn das "Öffnen" der Klappe durch die Erkennung des Chips wird erst relativ spät ausgelöst. Man kann sich das so vorstellen das fast die Nasenspitze der Katze an der Scheibe klebt, dann löst der Türöffner durch ein relativ lautes klicken die Sperre und die Katze kann durch. Dann erfolgt mit 1-3 Sec Verzögerung die Schließung der Klappe sobald die Katze durchgestiegen ist. Unsere beiden Freigänger Kater haben ca 1-2 Tage gebraucht bis sie sich an die neue Situation gewöhnt haben und nutzen nun den neuen Weg nach draußen als wäre er schon immer so gewesen. Die Funtkion mit dem getrennten "raus lassen" haben wir noch nicht ausprobiert, gehen aber davon aus das dies genau so reibungslos verläuft wie alles andere. Wir können die Katzenklappe bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen, sie öffnet und schließt tadellos.

Bought this and must have got the wrong model. Despite this being the same price it doesn’t connect to the sureflap connect. Had to contact customer service and give them the serial number. Good quality, although it’s not air tight and you get a draft. Also the door is not so heavy, if a cat comes in and it’s windy the door can stay open. Came home one day and a vacuum had been created due to it being installed in a wall with the extenders and I had so many leafs in the house and all the heating had gone, overall it’s ok.

Funciona bien, lleva dos semanas instalada pero las gatas no la usan porq les da miedo el ruido que mete cuando se quita el pestillo automáticamente, esperemos que con el tiempo la usen mas

As a door to keep out raccoons, it is 100% effective. We installed this door to replace a conventional cat door of the same dimensions, and Rocky has not got through once. You need to get the dual-scan, so the door locks in both directions. Otherwise, if it locks only in one direction, Rocky can open by pulling the door towards him from the outside. That part works great. The first cat door we received was 10% effective at opening for our cats. We followed the directions, the cats got used to the new door before we 'activated' the locking. Since we had an existing door in the same location, that didn't take long. When the locking went into effect, the sensor activates and the door unlocks only when we lift the cat up and place his shoulders against the sensor. Imagine holding wet spaghetti from the middle and fitting it through a straw...you'll get it through 10% of the time. We installed new batteries, we cleaned the new sensors, we tempted the cats with wet food, we encouraged the cats to stand in front of the door and tap on the door with their paw to 'activate'. But, the surefire way to open the cat door was to lift the cat and angle their shoulders to get the chip near the door sensor. And even then, there's a short window when the door is unlocked for the cat to jump through. So, if you hire a cat doorman to stand by and assist with the lifting and angling, this is a great product. We'll keep trying, but it has not been easy. Somewhere nearby, Rocky is laughing at me. UPDATE: We worked with SureFlap customer support, and they determined that our cat flap was faulty. They replaced it for free and the replacement works great. Our cats are able to get in and out without an issue, when they choose to, and no raccoon has breeched the cat flap. The only issue we have now is for both our cats opting to use the door. They would much rather us open the front door for them...as they consider coming in... or out...or in. Thanks for the follow up SureFlap!
