Every Woman and Doctors who help treat Woman should read this book
If you are suffering from Menopause I highly recommend you read this book. You don't have to have a medical degree to understand this book. It's written simply and informatively. After reading this book I also ordered What your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause. I'm amazed at this day and age exactly how many Doctors are still not up on Hormone Replacement Therapy. There is absolutely no reason why any woman should be suffering from Hormone deficiency. Take charge of your body and your life. I am 60 years young and was desperate when I found this book and read it. I have been fortunate that I don't have any health problems. I have always been very careful with making sure I take natural vs synthetic hormones. I was on the Estradiol and Progesterone for 5 years and then was told I had to go off of them. My hot flashes returned even worse than before. I had several all day and night. My husband ended up sick because I shut the heat off in our bedroom and opened all the windows with temperatures in the low 20s at night. He complained that it was so cold in there he could see his breath and was going to have to sleep in the spare bedroom. After reading these books I made an appointment with a new DR who studies Hormone Replacement Therapy. I'm happy to say that my husband and I are still sleeping in the same room and bed and I am no longer suffering from the discomforts of Menopause.

An important book for al women and many doctors
This book is most like an encyclopedia for women concerning the hormone balance that is with special thinking concerning the breast cancer. Question and Answers among other, for women feeling of something being wrong, then in the book go finding what experience over the past years tells the reason can be and what to do.And it explains how the estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are working together and how much the quantity of each of these totally and reciprocal are changing during the periods and depending of the age. And it also tells how much have been done wrong by only giving women estrogen even though for most of them their body already was producing too much estrogen compared to the amount of especially progesterone. And by reading the book I've learned many important things. Among other that the oral estrogens raises blood pressure. And my wife had a bit too high blood pressure when she over 33 years were taking estrogen (artificial) pills. And besides that it was wrong when the actual doctor 5 month ago, after breast cancer was discovered, told her to immediately stop taking the estrogen. After that she started having heath and sleeping problem. And first month later, when reading the books by Lee I discovered the reason to be the suddenly stop taking estrogen, instead of slowly over months reducing it. What the doctor ought to have known.I have now either talked with or written to 3 doctors here in Chiang Mai and advised them to read the books written by Dr. John Lee, as it have shown up that here in Thailand progesterone cream don't exist, there only are estrogen creams! And I, being a private person, am not allowed to buy it from other countries! And the doctors instead now are giving my wife Tamoxifen! But I'll go on trying to wake up doctors out here in Thailand by continuing advising them to read these very important books written by Lee, Hopkins and Zava, so that they, among other, understand the importance of the progesterone creams and stop only advising estrogen.

His easiest book to follow
All of his books are good but this one cuts through all of the science and gets down to how to use bioidenticals, mainly progesterone cream. I do get tested (serum and saliva), I do work with a compounding pharmacy and a medical doctor on my natural hormone therapy. The progesterone cream that I used was very helpful to me. And yes, there is such thing as too much of a good thing. You can overdo it on progesterone cream which Dr. Lee and Dr. Diana Schwarzbein, MD (the series of books "The Schwarzbein Principal" will tell you. You can get out of whack. You can get mid cycle bleeding if using to much and you can get a return of your symptoms if you use too much. Unfortunately, there are lots of creams over the counter and through MLM companies that are not necessarily good for you or effective. I haven't heard of "lethal" side effects. That has me curious but can tell you that has never been a discussion with my doctors. I can tell you that I would prefer progesterone cream over any of the synthetic horse pee and other stuff the big pharmas have to offer which lead you to more problems. I guess the message here is: don't over medicate. And, don't assume it's all PMS or all hormones. Remember the hormone systems all work in sync (Schwarzbein Principal book gives good info here). It could be blood sugar or something with diet that adds to your symptoms, cravings, etc. Aside from a few months on Progesterone cream (good ones), I would definitely monitor yourself with some help. Check out womentowomen.com website for a lot of free info and their personal program which is where I got started. And remember, there is no such thing as a risk free hormone (or most supplements for that matter). Natural doesn't mean no side effects. Look at the big picture and get some professional advice if you aren't sure or if you don't feel right. And for the lady with lethal side effects, it would be nice for you to publish that information as not doing so does seem suspect.

Short & Sweet
Although this has good info., it is an abbreviated form of Dr. Lee's earlier book "What Your Dr. may Not Tell You About Menopause". I read the more detailed one first and should not have bought this second which was redundant.
