Had this safe now for about 6months. I read reviews here and elsewhere on the internet and aside from accidental shipping blemishes and complaints about being made in China...I never saw anything that turned me away so I finally ordered. I'm glad I did. It's a large, well built safe. You get a LOT for your money with this particular safe. If you want to compare...compare the thickness, size/capacity and weight. You'll be hard pressed to find an equivalent safe for less money. I'v also got a smaller Liberty safe and in personal comparison...the Liberty may be made here in the US, it (at least to me) does not compare when looking at the comparison criteria I listed. Don't get me wrong, Liberty is a great safe but for your money, you get a LOT more safe with Steelwater. I'm very pleased with the purchase and will buy another one when the time comes.

Steelwater Safes doesn't support it's products & for incomprehensible reasons,misrepresents the content of my communications asking for support as being profane,manufacturing an excuse not only to not provide support but also for being extremely rude,condescending & ultimately hanging up on me every time I called & tried to be heard.The Steelwater keypads fail when the batteries run out. twice this has happened to me.The 1st time they arranged for a lcoksmith to change it.It worked until Dec.2024 when the battery ran out again.The lights came on but the keypad didn't work.So I changed the battery,which is the recommended step when this happens and the battery has been in for a long time.But after changing it,the lights didn't even come on anymore.So i wrote them an Email CONTAINING NO PROFANITY,which was ignored.So i called for support & the above described "conversations" transpired.The company rep on the phone characterized my email as being profane & name calling,even read it back to me & hung up when I tried to respond. so I checked the email in my sent messages and it contains NONE of the Language the person claimed. My email was matter of fact,free of profanity,stated my problem,asked for help & was rejected as were all of my phone calls.

First, I don’t write reviews never understood people who doGuys you have to judge the whole deal from ordering to delivery then service. The safe is the best, hands down, every aspect is superior. I have no idea what these nit pickers are talking about on some of these ratings. Along with the safe the after sale service is over the top, people are great and attentive to your needs. I had one little issue with the electric eye, had a new one in the mail in 3 days, no questions asked.I would wholeheartedly recommend this product and the people, I guess sometimes you just have to take the time to recognize excellence.Pat Paterson, Virginia

Aside of delivery hassles and mess, the main disappointment is that fingerprinting feature won’t work. Constant failure recognizing profiles and simply won’t open. Have to use manual key all the time. Bought for particular this feature. Consider this when looking for any digital access value...

bought this after watching the you tube videos of them trying to break into it- punch attack- hinge attack, prybar attack and axe attack. then they dropped it from 30' up. I was impressed but after it was delivered i found out it was made in china- pissed me off but it is well made and if you buy it.. Pay the extra for the LA Gard dial combo and not the POS digital lock. ( you will thank me later ) this thing is massive and has 1 1/2 " bolts- plenty of space for your valuables.. just wish they were up front an honest about it being Chinese made.

Did some research on safes before buying. Obvious choices included Fort Knox and Summit safes. Wanted something heavy, sturdy, good fire protection, but good price. Got all of that in this one safe. Over 1200 pounds, so won't be easy to move. Sturdy door and door frame. Door is 9 gauge with extra 1/4 inch welded to it. Eighteen 1 1/2 inch steel bolts extend around the door. Nice looking safe... good paint job. Unknowns: Rust-proof? Not clear, but putting in dehumidifier in case. No lights attached, but I've installed one. Not sure of thickness of side walls, but appear to be 9 gauge, which is better than most (but not the top safes). Not sure if the welds are continuous or spot: I cannot tell from looking at it. I am not pleased it was made in China, but with decent design and QA/QC, it should be ok. Mechanical lock means entry takes some time, but that's not an issue for me. I'm quite satisfied in most respects. Suspect the safe can still be cut through... if someone is really desperate. That's why the house is alarmed...Tough to install, but it's there and there it will stay!

This safe is way better than I expected. It is very heavy duty and heavy. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to have a very secure and protective area to store their guns and pretty much anything else as this thing is HUGE, I know what the dimensions say but it does not really sink in until it is sitting in your home. I researched ALOT of safes prior to buying this one and once again diligence proved fruitful as this is truly the most bang for the buck of anything available today.

Inferior Steel, over priced for MADE IN CHINA SAFE!
