Not a good start. Locking blade won't release to fold.
The finish of the knife is decent. The problem is once you open the "locking blade" the lock won't release the blade to fold it back. I didn't expect a Buck for the money but, come on!

Nice looking knife, very difficult to close.
Nice looking knife but very hard to close. I got it for my 12 year old boy scout but he's unable to close it on his own so we had to get him another knife for his camping trip. Is mine defective or do i need to lubricate it with something like WD40?

Mechanism is a little stiff, other than that it serves it's purpose for me perfectly.

Excellent Knife for the Price - Release button a little hard to press though.
Very nice knife. Wood grain is beautiful. Everything feels solid and smooth. The only complaint I have is that the release button is very hard to press. It might just be my knife, but it is an inconvenience because you must use a lot of force and press the release almost all the way down to unlock the blade. I still gave it 5 stars because everything else about the knife is so good.

This knife could be nice, but has some major safety issues!
The media could not be loaded. I really wanted to like this knife. I was planning on giving it to my 20 year old son as he likes to collect knives. I can't give it to him though because it has several major flaws that I feel cause it to be unsafe. I will start with the positives, and then explain why I feel this way. First of all it is a really sharp knife so it has that going for it. The tip is extremely sharp as well as the blade. No issues there. It easily cut through the paper and cardboard I tested it on. It does come with a nice canvas sheath to hold it in which has a belt loop to wear on a belt. It has a velcro closure to hold it securely in place. It has a very good locking mechanism that definitely holds it open without budging for safety. However the main problem comes in once it is open. There is a button on the side that you are supposed to push in to release the locking mechanism to close the knife. It is extremely hard to push in. I mean you have to push extremely hard to even get it in. The way you have to hold it to get the button pushed in puts your fingers in the way of the blade if it should come down while trying to close it. My husband has been able to close it, but it was even hard for him. He tried to show me how to do it, but I tried and tried and I finally got so frustrated I felt like pitching it through the nearest wall. I am not new to knives as I have tested out quite a few, and I have never come across one I couldn't easily and safely close. This is a huge safety hazard. I can easily see someone chopping their fingers off while trying to close it, or at least cutting them pretty badly. The other issue is that when the knife is closed the bottom of the knife blade isn't flush with the handle and sticks out quite a bit. It has a really sharp corner on it that if not in the sheath when closed could cut you or snag on something if picking it up wrong. I have never seen a knife with this issue. Finally, and this is a more minor issue, but the handle has a rivet on each side. On one side of mine the rivet was flush and smooth on the handle, but on the other side the rivet sticks up some and is pretty rough. This could be a nice knife since it is sharp if these issues were fixed, but with it the way it is I just can't recommend it as I feel it is actually dangerous. If they would fix these issues I would gladly give it a 4 or 5 stars, however at this time I don't think it is a good product. *I received this knife at a discounted price for testing purposes, and for an honest review. The opinions in this review are 100% my own based on my experience with the product, and I made no commitment to leave a positive review.*

Good knife.
The media could not be loaded. This is a good little knife. I plan to give it to my son for summer camp with the boyscouts this year. It is a good small size and comes in a canvas pouch that has a velcro closure as well as a loop on the back to run your belt through. The knife itself is small. IT has a nice looking wood grain handle. The blade is very sharp and thin. It locks into place well when you open it so that it will stay open during use. This is good as I don't want a knife to accidentally close on my sons fingers. You press a button on the back to close the knife. Be careful to keep your fingers clear of the blade when closing. The knife is a bit stiff, but with a bit of lubrication and use it is easier to open and close. We like it.I purchased this product at a discount in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
