What all size buckets will this fit?

Received this Chemical Guy’s dirt trap on July 09, 2023. I read numerous answers and reviews. Chemical Guys state diameter as 10 5/16 inches. My Measurement is 26.3 cm +/- 0.05 cm. This Chemical Guy’s dirt trap fits correctly in a 5 gal, Home Depot orange “Homer” bucket. Cost $4.49 plus tax. Also fits the HDX branded 5 gallon transparent mixing bucket also sold by Home Depot costing $5.99 plus tax which has measurements on the side. These buckets are the same size. I used a 6 inch long, size 18 tarred braided nylon twine made by Catahoula Manufacturing Inc. inserted through existing drain holes by the periphery edge closest to the bucket for ease of removal. This Chemical Guy’s dirt trap is well made without defects. Seems sturdy and well designed. Hope this information helps.

What is the actual measurement? it seems that this is made for chemical guys $15 bucket only. some buckets are narrower at the bottom too.

Doesn’t fit in the following buckets: Home Depot, harbor freight (almost, but won’t go all the way to the bottom), Napa, Oreilly’s, autozone, advance auto, Walmart. Still gotta try academy and the firehouse pickle bucket and will report back. So far it only fits a bucee’s bucket I bought 4-5 years ago perfectly.

I have a 10" 5 gallon bucket but i understand a dirt grit from home depot won"t fit property in my bucket! why is that? 10" is 10" no matter what.

The Dirt Trap fits snugly in any standard 12’’ diameter bucket; product measures 10 5/16 inches in diameter.

Does it work better than a traditional grit guard?

The dirttrap has these cyclones in the bottom that help "pull" the dirt and debris below the dirttap itself. Because of its shape, dirt cannot force its way up through the cyclone and back into the regular water. A normal grit guard, however is shaped like a sewer grate, where everything is sort of free-flowing and stuff can land on your mitt even though you wiped it on the grit guard.
