Great Company Supporting a Great Product
I'm not sure why anyone would buy a pressure cooker from any other company but Presto. Seriously, how many companies have a phone support number here in the states, that cheerfully helps you identify your cooker and the replacement part number, whether you buy from them, or from Amazon? It took me about 10 minutes from the time I opened the package, to get the new ring and vent installed. Used the cooker that evening, and it worked perfectly. I've had this pot for 30 years, and I fully expect for it to be handed down to my great-grandkids. Thank you Presto!!As some other people have noted, a little cooking spray, and then start to tuck the ring in to the seal groove simultaneously from 4 different points (12 - 3 - 6 and 9 o'clock), a little bit at a time from each point. While it does appear to be too large for the top, a little patience, and then pressing the final slack into the rim, will get the job done. Also, Presto has a great web site with all sorts of recipes, as well as instructions on the care of the new ring. After cleaning, I just take a little bit of cooking oil on the tip of my finger, and rub it all the way around the seal before I put the pot away. Don't seal the lid on the pot for storage - leave it loose. That simple bit of maintenance made the first liner last for 30 years.

Good quality replacement parts. Not OEM Presto.
Good quality replacement sealing ring and air vent. These are not genuine Presto parts (they are still available from Presto on their website) but they do get the job done. Installing the air vent is easy. Press out the old one from the top side of the lid. Press in the new one from the bottom side of the lid. Be sure the small end of the metal plug is on the outside, and the big end is on the inside. If it is a tight fit, put a little cooking oil on it and try again. The Sealing ring can be difficult to install because it keeps popping out as it is worked into the groove. This is true of the Genuine Presto part or aftermarket. Wipe a little cooking oil on the ring. Press it into the groove on opposite sides, letting the rest hang out. Then do the same with the part that is hanging out. This will cause the ring to be seated then bulge in 4 places in the lid. Slowly work in the bulging sections working opposite sides back and forth until its all in. It helps to have an extra pair of hands to hold what has been seated from popping out. Avoid starting in one place and working the ring in by moving along the rim because when the last bit is bulging out, it is near impossible to work in without some other place popping out.BTW, the original Presto manual says to put a little cooking oil on the ring from time to time to help keep it soft and make closing the lid easier.

Replacement seal for wifes pressure cooker
The 'orginal' rubber seal on the cooker had cooked its last roast. The rubber seal was shot, and would not maintain a seal when cooking. My first thought was to throw away this rather old cooker, but thought I'd try to find a replacement seal. A few key strokes and checking the model number on the cooker, to what Amazon had on screen, and I was ordering a new seal. The wait time was less than expected and we had the new one "in hand" before the next Sunday’s dinner. Now putting it ON was a challenge. Of course I cleaned the lid of the cooker, making sure it was completely clear of any of the “old” rubber seal.Next - installing the new seal. You ever try to put a 15" tire on a 14" rim. That's what it was like. AS I would work the seal into the groove in the lid, the last inch or so - would move away from where I was working. After a lot of effort, maybe a little cussing, and lot of frustration, I was ready to send this darn seal back to from where it came from. One more effort, first: went to the work shop and brought back a couple clamps. Put the 1st clamp at the last point I'd worked the seal to, and secured it. Placed the second clamp at the other end of the bulging seal and clamped it. Then I tried to squeeze the bulge into the lid. After several more attempts, I realized that I had to allow the seal to “back up” as it was being installed. Sprayed some cooking oil on the lid, reinserted the seal and used only 1 clamp and it (seal) FINALLY went into place.I immediately put the lid on the "pot" and twisted the lid into "lock position". Then set down and had a cup of coffee. Whew! No, it wasn't easy to install, but dinner that Sunday was worth the effort.

The sealing ring was easy to put on
The sealing ring was easy to put on my 50+ year old pressure cooker and worked well. Did not need to use the air vent.

Perfect fit!
I was very sad when my seal broke on my vintage pressure cooker. I was so happy to find this seller had a size I needed. It is perfect.
