One of the best small purchases I've made for climbing, hands down. High quality, decent value, comes with adhesive replacements, works great! Since I've started using it, I haven't had any serious flappers and the lack of mountains of hardened skin on my hands is great for the girlfriend when holding hands or giving back massages and whatnot. Personally, I've felt the need to buy multiple so I can keep them in different bags / multiple places. They're pretty small so it could be easy to lose if you don't utilize the accessory cord that's provided, or replace it with a more convenient longer one. Far exceeds the rip-off brand also found on this website, as the different colors have a different coarseness, which gives the same variety as sandpaper on wood. White is great for getting rid of potential flappers, then black to make things smooth and transition the layers of skin more naturally. It'll work for hands, fingers, feet, toes, and nails. If you run out of replacements and are on a budget, I imagine it's fairly easy to grab some sandpaper from a department store and cut it to shape. However I'm an enthusiast for supporting the guys who put in the work and research to provide us with a product that works, so would just recommend buying more. When replacing the file, just make sure nothing gets on the sticky or in the way of the sticky, otherwise you may rip it off when using the product. 10/10, wonderful product, would absolutely recommend if you're concerned about what this was made for.

Having been climbing for a few weeks consistently (3-5 times a week), I have to say, this is one of those necessary accessories for frequent climbers. I use soft hands to grab holds, but there are times you have to lock off with enough of a grip on those holds that are like sand paper. Eventually, you get little calluses and minor skin lifts (I haven't experienced a flapper yet.) At the end of every climb after really washing my hands and letting them dry, I use the lower grit side to remove any lifted skin, and the higher grit side to finish off the trim. Then I usually use ClimbSkin salve to finish off my hand care regimen. I have to say, this has been the ritual that avoided me from having a flapper where your skin rips and flaps out from a major blister or something. Pros - It'll save you from painful flappers - It really cleans up the dead skin to form a tougher skin on your hands for climbing - Comes with 2 more pairs of sandpaper you can attach to the wooden handle - It lasts a while (I have been using the original pair of sanding surfaces for over a month and it should last longer before I have to replace them) Cons - It's a double sided sandpaper with a wooden hold and a lanyard (maybe I can make one -- Nah. Too lazy) - Sometimes the bend on the handle make it hard to sand some places (you get used to it though) Overall, this is a good tool to have in your skin care arsenal for climbers (indoor or outdoor). I highly recommend getting one, unless you have enough time in the world to build one yourself. Also, using an emery board maybe a lower cost option if you can find the right grit size for similar tasks. I will buy another set once this one wears out because I love how compact it is and does a great job for the skin care tasks. Hope this helps.
