Most computers these days, be it desktop or laptop, do not come with optical drives. And honestly, there's a reason for it, flash drives are better in every respect; they are far faster, have much higher storage capacity, and are much more durable. *BUT* there's always seems that once or twice time a year where you need to get some data of a CD-ROM or DVD+/-R. This is a product for those times. I bought this external optical drive because my mother recently got a new desktop, it didn't come with an optical drive, but mom has stored all kinds of data on optical discs for the past 20+ years and was not about to give that up so I bought here this Asus Zendrive.It's not hard to use, you just plug it in to a USB port and that's about it, there aren't any drivers needed for Win10/11. It's not particularly noisy, the USB cable is a bit shorter than I'd like, but you can place the drive on top of the tower if you need to. These things aren't particularly expensive or anything, but at the same time, most people won't be using them regularly. It's on of those "If you need it, you need it" products.

An absolutely fantastic external drive. I've had her for about a month-ish and she's till running beautifully.She isn't super quiet but I'm not complaining. I'm stating this in case someone believes it's absolutely quiet - it's spinning hardware, it's going to make noise
