Excellent for someone starting out in coffee roasting
Lots of good practical information, particularly for somebody just starting out in coffee roasting. Well written and illustrated.

Misses the most important teaching points of roasting
This book is good for a broad overview of coffee but not as much for actual roasting. It misses out completely on explaining important concepts like rate of rise, turn around points, etc. even worse it shows you a graph with some of these terms being used, but then completely fails to explain what they mean. I bought the book to learn about those concepts, but instead it focuses more on coffee as an industry and less on actual roasting.

Packed full of information
This is exactly what I was looking for to introduce me to the world of Coffee roasting. This is a beginners guide with history on the different types of beans. A good Starter book.
