What do you use to cool the CO2 down to -109.3 degrees F?

John; the expansion of CO2 from the compressed cylinder to the low-pressure box is endothermic: it absorbs heat and the gas cools down very significantly. You use the dry ice maker by simply opening the tap on the cylinder; carbonic snow accumulates into the box until it's full and the safety valve releases. You crack the maker in two, and inside will be a block of densely packed carbonic snow. This is not dry ice: it is carbonic snow. Do not be misled by the name of the device: it does not make dry ice, but rather makes carbonic snow which is good for overnight shipping.

Where can I get the C02 that will be used to make dry ice?

We get ours through a local welding gas supply company. Also, check with companys tha supply CO2 for resturants (for soda fountain drinks).
